“Ok experience”
The hotel itself was in a great location. Plenty to do and see within walking distance. Pool area was ok but the pool itself was a bit small. Need more sun beds around the pool. Supervisors in restaurant shouting at staff completely unacceptable.

We have been to the Stamatia Hotel twice. The hotel has an excellent location, close to the beach, and close to the city center with restaurants and cafes. The reception staff is very friendly. But the hotel need renovation. In the corridors there is an old carpet (with all the stains), old-fashioned and probably many years old. The bathrooms are also outdated and not perfectly clean. The air conditioner is extremely old, and in our room it was not possible to adjust the temperature or the direction of the air conditioner. Very young people often stay in the hotel, who are often drunk, shout on the terrace and create chaos and disturb the other guests. The reception is not responding. It's bad for the hotel's reputation, because we all came on vacation and to have our own peace. We didn't eat in the hotel, but in local restaurants, they have an excellent range of food.

Just returned from a week at this hotel, we arrived at 10pm and got checked in quickly and efficiently, the red haired receptionist was very pleasant and spoke perfect English. She explained the food hall was closed but she gave us packed meals in polystyrene boxes. However on opening them was disappointed to find they contained one plastic packed chocolate croissant, a packet of garibaldi biscuits and an apple. Ultra processed sugary rubbish which I don’t consider is an evening meal. I went across the road to the supermarket and bought some cold meat, cheese and a salad, and the sugary rubbish got thrown in the bin. Management you run a hotel, why don’t you give people nice healthy hotel food to eat? Our room was clean, we were on the ground floor however on going out onto the balcony our “view” was a side alley where staff came out to sit and smoke and they wheeled rubbish bins along, absolutely awful so we did not sit on the balcony ever. The pool area is nice and clean and relaxed, nobody pesters you, there is no animation team there, it’s just really chilled. The pool however is much smaller than it looks online, it’s the smallest pool I’ve ever been to and you can’t really swim in it, I tried but you go round in little circles but someone always gets in your way. It’s definitely just a pool to cool off in , so if you like to swim a lot don’t book this hotel. There are not nearly enough sun loungers around the pool, we weren’t there in the high season but many times came out and there was none free, management you need to provide far more loungers. The hotel is in a perfect location, a few minutes walk from the beach, and lots of restaurants and shops nearby too. The main strip is about a 10 minute walk away. The beach is a small strip of sand nearly all covered with sun loungers which you have to pay for, €2.50 for a lounger and another €2.50 for an umbrella, but they were always full and we found a little bit of sand and put our towels down there. The beach is very rocky and stoney, and the stones go far out so you really need water shoes to get in and out. There’s not much fish to see there for snorkelling. The food at the hotel had a smaller choice than other hotels, but I always found something to eat, the only problem is it was lukewarm, by the time you got back to your table to eat it it was cold. Management you need to turn up the heaters under your food to make it hot. The desserts were very limited, all they had were generic bought in frozen sponges of various different colours which they cut into little squares, that was all they had every lunchtime and evening, it was a poor show. Management you need to employ a pastry chef and make some different desserts. Also there was a distinct lack of Cypriot food on offer, I never saw halloumi or baklava on the menu. The coffee was disgusting, undrinkable, there was a Costa coffee shop a four minute walk away which I went to to get a decent coffee. The staff in the canteen were efficient and brought you drinks and cleared your plates away quickly. The bar outside was run in the morning by a very nice man, Palinka?? I think he was called, he smiled, was friendly and very efficient, management he is an asset to your hotel and you should give him a pay rise, however in the afternoon it gets run by a woman who was completely different. Now I’ve met some grumpy waitresses before but she is definitely the grumpiest, most rude woman I have ever been served by!! Helena just emitted hatred and loathing every time she poured us a drink, she put the drinks on the bar and turned her back on us immediately like she couldn’t bear to look at us, she gave no eye contact, let alone a smile. Her body language just screamed hate! Management she is not an asset to your hotel and you need to move her to work in the kitchen or the basement somewhere where she doesn’t have to deal with the public as she hates them so much. All in all we had a nice relaxing week, the bed was comfy , the shower was good and powerful and the shower gel smelled nice. Would I return to this hotel? No, cold food, small pool and rude staff spoiled it.

I stayed with my husband and 2 children from 20th august Arrival was food we arrived late so restaurant and at closed but we are given a park each of food and drink which was nice The room we were given was tiny…absolutely no way it can accommodate 4 persons We paid for upgrade to bigger room Next day Pool is quite small and when busy isn’t great to enjoy… Lifeguard was lovely and friendly and a real asset to the hotel They need to play more music around the pool to create a more holiday vibe..a tiny speaker isn’t cutting it Most staff friendly included Damna eleni and aziz Panikos was up and down he shouted at my daughter sit down once, we told him to not raise his voice to her and never did again Food overall was good always something to choose and all tasty Snack bar - if u like burgers/pizza and chips then fine, the need more choice, like salad, fruit etc Pizza was horrible The entertainment need some attention For the amount of money we paid we would have expected entertainment every evening and activities during the day One night they had Cypriot night with singing and dancing. This was excellent Cleaning of rooms wasn’t great. Our bedding wasn’t change once in 10 days only bed made…not good enough Hotel should offer towels for use around the pool and not have to pay for that Hotel in good location for beach and ayia napa
