A beautiful, quaint hotel in the heart of the old town in Nice. Just stayed for here for 6 nights and I have to say - it was wonderful. It’s tucked away down a little side street but right close to the markets, shops and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly, helpful and polite and it was a pleasure to stay there. Although my room was relatively small, it was very comfortable and lovely and clean and tidy. As I checked out, the lady thanked me because the maid had told her that my room was the cleanest in the hotel! It was completely unnecessary but a lovely comment nonetheless. Thank you very much to all the staff for such an enjoyable stay.

The hotel is located right at the edge of the Old Town so every kind of food and shopping is available with some right below the hotel. It has a beautiful tower that is lit up at night. The rooms are not big but fairly standard for European hotels. We had 3 different rooms and they were all spotless. Yes, you need to go up narrow stairs to the rooms so I would not recommend if that would be a difficulty. Some rooms have balconies (very small, just enough for little table and 2 chairs). I would recommend if you want to stay up late and people watch below but if you would like a quieter room ask for one not on the street (I stayed in room 207 and has a quieter night than my friends). It is on the tram line and maybe a ten minute walk to the beaches (through the Old Town). Check out was at 10:30 am. The staff was pleasant.

When planning this trip we did not realize that our dates were over Monte Carlo Grand Prix and end of Canne film festival. We could not book hotel in advance as we did not know our arrival date or if we would get on the flight (airline standby). We literally did the booking when we landed in Nice. Anyway. Location was PERFECT for us. Hotel is in Old Town among charming alleys, shops and restaurants. (one at hotel too). It is in an historic building, and as such there are no elevators. We literally got the last room which was quite small, but common for the area. I was nervous in later reading reviews about cleanliness etc, but found our room to be very clean. Yes, there are narrow stairwells, but we took our time going up and down with our bags. Staff could not be more helpful and gracious. I apologized for not speaking very much French and they all conversed with us in English. Their English was way better than my French and I appreciated their efforts! We did miss having coffee or even a kettle in the room, and the very small shower were our only cons. Had the staff not been so nice and helpful to us, I would have rated lower. Price was a little over 200 Euro per night but that was due to all that was going on in the area. lower at other times of the year. If our "cons" are not a big deal to you, I would recommend staying here as the service more than makes up for our cons.
