The rooms have no air conditioning but we had a fence so we could have no problem inside. There is not breakfast room but the lady suggest you to try the continental breakfast served in the down stairs bar.we were 3 of us and we had no problems in sharing the space.the cost is average to the other ohotel but Saint James has really got the Biarritz spirit on it.

Stayed for one night and wish we stayed longer! You are right in the middle of les halles which is the centre for bars, restaurants and the market. You are also above a popular restaurant (st Jean). It doesn't have parking but the receptionist very kindly mapped out all the roads which had free parking, which was lots but just a case of driving round till you find a space. The receptionist also mapped out a lovely walk along the coast beach and then shops. Very helpful. The room was clean, modern-ish, had full length mirror, and a lovely little balcony overlooking the town. The bathroom was a bit dated and the toilet didn't flush that well. Also we didn't have aircon, which meant having the windows open at night over the noisy street - but all of the wine and beer we had that night sorted our sleeping anyway! Also there is no lift, so be prepared to carry them up stairs if you have heavy cases. Would stay here again.

The first problem was actually finding the hotel. I was on a cycle tour and the weather was atrocious, with rain and wind. Although i put the location into google maps, i failed to find it at first because people were taking cover from rain in front of the single small door next door to a restaurant (which turns out to be associated with the Hotel). The name on the building is otherwise obscured by a large awning. A hotel across the street was very helpful and pointed out the door, which by then was no longer obscured. One goes through a security door and then up 2 short flights of stairs. Check in was easy and my bike was stored in a locked room just around the corner from mine. Nothing was said about the fact that no one would be around to unlock that storage room until 8:30 the next morning, which eliminated my chance for an early departure. The room is small, but standard size for most places in Europe. The bathroom was large and the bed quite comfortable. A major draw for this hotel is its location, which also happens to be a big drawback. The street has multiple bars just across the street from the hotel, all of which come alive after 10pm, so if you want sleep, ear plugs are a good idea. The walls are also thin, so the TV in the room next door, that started up at about 2am, was an issue. There is no air conditioning, so if it is warm, the only option is open windows.
