Just got back from a week with the family (me, mrs, 2 x kids 10 and 12) at Arco Baleno apts and wanted to share my feedback so it may help you decide to book here. The apts are classic Creten/Greek, quite basic but pretty immaculate. Arrival was smooth, despite being midnight (Sofos is a really cool dude and made our stay awesome) room was great, just about ok size wise for the four of us, balcony, air con, slightly under equipped kitchen (could do with a bit more stuff, but we managed to knock up salads and pasta no problem). We were B&B and the breakfast was good, fresh bread, good coffee, cereals and some cooked bits. Pool is brilliant, nice and big, as is the environment around the place, very very chilled with all you could really want for days spent dipping in and out of the pool to avoid the heat! And free, good, wifi too! All in all a really great little, traditional, small, budget hotel. Thanks to the team for making our stay great! :)

Weve just come back from a 2 week stay at Arco Baleno. We were looking for affordable self catering apartments in Annisaras that have accommodation for a family of 5 (which is harder than you think as most places only accommodate rooms for 4) and we were lucky enough to find Arco Baleno. We stayed in a superior suite that had lovely views of the pool on one side and the olive groves on the other with the sea in the near distance! Beautiful views. Our apartment was very spacious, fully equipped with a kitchenette (although I didn't cook while I was there) air con, safe (which you pay a little extra for) large balcony etc. Our rooms were cleaned everyday, linens and towels changed every other day. The staff were great, really friendly and always on hand to help. It had a real family run feel. My children don't like sleeping in the dark so they gave us a nightlight so we didn't have to leave the bathroom light on all night. The pool was a good size with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. It gets quite deep which we loved but there was a shallow pool for younger children too. The grounds are lovely with beautiful trees and lovely flowers, very relaxing. No noise except the birds and crickets. There was also swings and a slide for the children. We ate many times at the restaurant, breakfast lunch and dinner. The food was very good, as were the prices. Their Greek Salad was the best we had, the moussaka and souvlakia also very good. The hotel was a short walk (we did it in 12 minutes with children) to the beach and supermarkets. The beach was lovely, sandy and very fine shingles nearer the shore which meant the sea was clear, great for snorkelling and finding fish. We used the sunbeds in front of 'captains bar' if you ordered drinks you didn't have to pay for the use of sun beds. We also ordered food from there which they served you at your sunbeds with a small table. Great food there also. We drove to a very sandy beach in Stalidas just a bit further passed Hersonissos but it was very busy so we preferred Annisaras beach. I would definitely stay at Arco Baleno again and look forward to seeing the staff again!

Very nice hotel. Spent 10 nights at this wonderfull hotel, the staff was incredibly polite, helpfull and nice. The hotel is located in a quiet area, within a resonable walk to the sandy beach area. Nearby (on the road to the beach) you can find a well stocked market. Taverns, bars, beach bars, souvenir shops within resonable distance from Arco Baleno Hotel. Rooms are clean, big, with big windows and large teraces. A/C works verry good. Bathroom clean, toiletries refreshed every day. Cleaning and linen/towels are changed every day (i saw reviews where people complained that the maid only comes once a week..that's false..during my stay maid was present every single day). Kitchinete well equiped for cooking light meals (breakfast, and quick lunches). The hotel also has a restaurant, i only booked room no meals, but on several ocasions had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and the food was great (try the gyros and fried squid..really good) and also the prices where very good. The hotel is surrounded by beautifull gardens with Fig trees, palms, beautifull flowers...a really nice treat for eyes and soul. In the middle there is a big swimming pool, that is also clean, and very pleasant to relax in a hot august afternoon in Crete. What can i say more...thank you guys for a wonderfull stay, keep up the good work, and congradulations for running a really nice hotel. P.s prices for this hotel are really good value. This is not a luxury hotel, but has all the things you need to enjoy a nice vacation in Crete. From the bottom of my heart, I recommend this hotel.

Very nice clean and quite place with very helpful staf. For relaxing holidays far from any noises except the birds , the hotel is around from trees little far from the sea. The staf of the hotel always ready to help you find you anything you need. Second time here and for sure will come again.

I used the apartment for a week as my base to go sailing at one of the watersports clubs down the beach. I enjoyed the walk to the beach and bus stop since I like the hiking part of it. With a comfortable pair of shoes I was fine and the temperature early September was just perfect for me. From the hotel it takes you 15 minutes to the bus stop from where you can easily get to Hersonissos and Heraklion. I opted to rent no car, but if you want to get around to more places, the apartments offer plenty of parking space. The staff is all local and will take care of you. The breakfast buffet offers the food essentials. I would have appreciated better coffee choices, so the coffee machine is up to an upgrade in my opinion. A few more choices of fruit would have been weclome though as a standard. I also opted for a few home cooked dinners, which came with excellent local red wine. I cannot fault the service of the staff and that compensates for the extra long check out time that I experienced (reception staff had a day off I was told later...end of the season I assume)
