My husband and I stayed for 7 days as of June 12th. The hotel room was spacious: full bed and an extra one too. There was updated bathroom, air conditioner, TV, small refrigerator and large balcony, good cleaning service, beautiful complex that includes a swimming pool, dining hall, outdoor bar and patio; lounge chairs on the beach and most of all immediate sea access. The location of the hotel was on a main street and had access to public buses and shops. The staff was very personable and friendly throughout the complex: reception area, housekeeping, dining hall, outdoor bar etc... The dining hall served healthy and nutritious food for all ethnicities or nationalities throughout Europe along with basic Greek cuisine. The hotel complex was attractive and tropical with its landscape design. Great photos opportunities. A fabulous vacation to heal the mind, body and soul! Highly recommended for quiet get away from the city life!

We went to Maravel Land hotel this year in August, it was a family trip. At first you have to clarify that there are more than one Maravel hotel in this area, so be sure you search info about the right one. We stayed in Maravel Land Hotel (3*) (but next to our hotel was Maravel Star Art hotel 4*). We booked a standard double room (through our travel operator), but when we arrived they gave us a room for 4 people (without additional cost) so it was very comfortable. Rooms for two persons were also big enough. Rooms were clean – towels were changed each two days, rooms were cleaned every day. Our balcony was quite big and there was also some sea view (trees were in front of the sea, but we could see some of it). The location is very good – the hotel has its own beach by the sea. If you want a sunbed, you have to pay extra – 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella costs 5 euro per day, but you also get 2 soft drinks included. The sea was quite wild – almost all the days during our stay there was the red flag. Huge waves (looked amazing, but you can’t swim in such waves). One day there was the yellow flag, but it was hard to get in the sea, because when you go in to the sea, you have to step on a very slippery, long rock. Of course, if you can pass it, then you can swim, but it was not easy. The pool was not very big, but it was big enough as there are not so many guests at the hotel. We really enjoyed it – the hotel is not big, so it is quiet and cozy. A lot of palm trees and flowers all around in the territory. As we had only breakfast and dinner included, a few times we had a lunch at the beach bar. Prices are very friendly, portions are large and everything was tasty (for example, you can order gyros for two persons for 5 euro). What was weird – it is not allowed for men to wear shorts during the dinner – they ask you to wear long trousers. It was asked to my travel companions too, but as we came to Greece (!) in August when it is +35 outside it was not planned at all to take any warm clothes with us. And, as it is a 3* hotel, no one ever imagined that something like that would be asked. So maybe it looked that we are rude, but my friends did wear shorts all the week during the dinner. Rhetymno is a few km from the hotel. You can get there by bus, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes. You can buy the bus tickets at the hotel and also at the hotel you can find the bus schedule. The bus was quite full when we went to Rhetymno, but it was terrible to get back. At the main bus stop there was a huge crowd (I would not recommend to take the last bus on the schedule – we went back at about 9 pm and it was already crowded). You buy tickets at the ticket booth at the bus stop and wait for the bus. When it arrives, the lady from the ticket booth comes out and shouts out prices of the tickets (for example, in the bus that has just arrived can get only those who have tickets for 1,30 or 1,60 euro etc.) This weird situation creates chaos, so be prepared for it if there are a lot of people at the time. We rented a car from Eurocars (just across the street from the hotel) – if you want to rent a car, I truly recommend them – they have the best service and prices! Overall we enjoyed our stay at Maravel Land and would definitely come back! Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Went out most lunch and dinner as there was no choice and had to spend extra money that we didn’t want to hence going all inclusive. This was a huge factor for us when booking the hotel and definitely wouldn’t come here all inclusive again.

“Good place for traveling as well as staying on the beach, with risk of waves”

Clean, nice, big enough rooms. Friendly staff, speaking English at least at basic level. Choice of food (halfboard) is ok for 3 stars hotel, also for vegetarians, wide offer of vegetables Directly on the beach, equipped with only small swimming pool High risk of big and dangerous waves resulting in red flags. We spent there 10 days in August and were able to really swimm only for 2 days! Other 2 half days we can go to the water for about 2 hours, than it was forbidden. It is very frequent situation in this area. Extremely noisy rooms on the street side, it is about 6 rooms, there no chance to sleep because of high traffic.
