In the main, this is such a relaxing hotel. We went in the first week of October half term, when clearly the German schools were on holiday. However, despite it being busy (and a good sort of buzzy), nowhere felt overcrowded. There were plenty of beds around the pools, or sea. We ate fairly late in the sittings, and the food was still being topped up and was plentiful. We booked an all inclusive week in an adult only room with a hot tub on the balcony. All these room are north facing so had no direct sun at this time of year, but the hot tub was heated. This is a windy resort! There’s no getting away from it. Friends booked a swim up room and were also north facing and as the pools aren’t heated, they used it once as they froze lying in the shade and wind! On arrival, the first room (316) we we given was next to the air conditioners and had a permanent loud vibration. We asked to move which was met with resistance and distrust: ‘no one else has complained…’ but after 20 minutes of phone calls to mangers, we were moved to the opposite end. I felt this could have been handled better - certainly, in a US 5 star hotel, it would have….. Apart from reception, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The resort was spotlessly clean. The all inclusive element was worth it. No one seemed to abuse it the alcohol side of things… We booked with Jet2 - a first for us, but not the last. All in all, definitely worth a visit!

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Astir and we have had a lovely holiday. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and your cases are taken to your room. We were upgraded to a private pool room which was superb. Whilst we were there we visited the a la carte restaurant (Argo) on my wife's birthday. Flowers & bubbly were waiting for us and a lovely birthday cake. Thank you to Theodore at the Argo who was very welcoming and always greeted us with a friendly smile. All The staff In the main restaurant (Achilles) were lovely but a big thank you to Anita & Angelica who went out of their way to look after us and were excellent host's. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the grounds are kept lovely. Rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. All the staff are friendly and hard working & said good morning or hello. Loved the app which you can use to book the Argo or order your drinks which are delivered to your sunbeds or table.

Arrived late, check in was quick and we were taken to our room in a golf buggy. As we were all inclusive and missed our evening meal they gave us sandwiches which me being vegetarian could not eat. I booked the holiday as a 30th birthday present for my daughter. Room was nice especially the mini bar which we took full advantage of. Big pool near the beach was the best pool and we could order drinks to our sunloungers via the app on our phones. The service was so much better than the main bar, which during the day we found even if we were the only people in the bar the staff still seemed to ignore us, was really hard to get another drink there. Food was great if you eat meat and fish, being a veggie I found it really hard to have a decent meal, I lived on pizza and salad most of the time. Breakfasts were the best, more choice. I personally didn't like the tip boxes scattered around the bar and dining areas, makes it look like the staff are begging people for money, I paid alot for the holiday being a 5 star hotel and all inclusive, and we have to pay tourist tax when check in, so didn't like the fact that they think we need to constantly pay for services we've already paid for. Hotel is in an area that is very quiet which for us was great but some people might not like it as there's no bars or restaurants nearby. Kos town is 20 mins on the bus across the road but the service is a bit inconsistent, we had to wait ages eventhough we got to the stop on time. Coming back we opted for a taxi which was 8 euros. Overall we enjoyed our holiday but being expensive, the food and staff problems i wouldn't be booking astir odysseus again.

“Nice relaxing week ”

Nice hotel, very large which means it's not over crowded. Pool area is really nice as is the beach option, just a few too many stones when getting in the sea. Food was good with a lot of choice and staff were all friendly and happy to help. Bus stop nearby to get into Kos Town
