“Quirky and lovely”

Quirky but lovely traditional Italian hotel just about sums it up. It did feel as though we had gone back in time to the 70s but I think that’s part of the charm. Our room was a good size and very yellow. Disappointingly we were in a back room meaning we didn’t have proper windows, just a small side window which looked out onto a path. We were also unfortunate that our room was directly above the kitchens so noise could be heard from 6am, however a room is for sleeping in, so it didn’t bother us too much. I was impressed with gowns and slippers in room along with all the little amenities like shower caps and sewing kit. Towels and bedding was changed everyday ! Dining was really impressive until the last couple of days when the hotel was hosting a large event and attention seemed to focus on those guests rather than other paying guests - this was both regarding food and the entertainment. Staff were always friendly and helpful and they work very hard. The bus into Sorrento was great and getting out and about to places like Vesuvius and Pompei was really easy and cheap on the trains.

Visited The Hotel La Grand Pace late October 2024. We were all inclusive in a bedroom with a sea view and a view of Mount Vesuvius. The bedroom was was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed, additional pillows and bedding. The room had a mini fridge which was re-stocked daily with large bottles of complementary water. Bedside drawer units with usb and plug sockets were very handy. Spacious wardrobe with security safe and wooden coat hangers already in place. The bathroom was very clean with the usual complimentary shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, sewing kit and shower caps. The bathroom also had a bidet, shower and full size bath which was a bonus. The hotel boasted a 5 star. Jet2 advertise it as a 4 star. I would suggest a 4.5 star as the rooms could do with a update. The hotel in general was very grand, plenty of space and lovely decorations. Plenty of room to sit and have a drink/ coffee. STAFF - very very friendly, helpful and eager to please. We initially had a problem with a loose toilet seat. One phone call to reception and a brand new seat fitted within half an hour. Excellent service.I have read many reviews about the food not being of standard. WRONG - the food was excellent, of excellent quality, cooked as it should be and more than enough choice. If I had to be picky, too much choice ! Breakfast - Plenty of choice, from a buffet style arrangement. Plenty of choice from hot and cold food, breads, cakes, juices, tea and coffee. Couldn't find fault at all. Lunch meal - served at the pool area. Again more than enough choice. Chef cooking fresh pasta all the time. Every evening dinner meal we were offered wine, water and soft drinks. The wine and water came as full bottled -wether you drank it all or not or just had a glass. The waiters and matre d were very helpful and attentive without being overpowering. Pool towels- these are in your room ready for use. At the end of your stay return them to reception or there is a €20 charge. ! Local tax is payable on the last night of your stay which is between €60- €70 ( CASH). The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle bus to Sorrento and has good times for early or late visits into town. SUMMARY - in our opinion a very well organised and run hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, great food and drink, great surroundings and views. Would highly recommend. Gary & Nadine. Cia babes.

“Not quite a 4 star”
Jet2 consider this a 4 star hotel. I don't. It's better than a 3 though, not quite a 4. It's an old hotel with really nice lobby, reception, pool area and dining room. Jet2 consider this a 4 star hotel. I don't. It's better than a 3 though, not quite a 4. It's an old hotel with really nice lobby, reception, pool area and dining room. The room I had was in need of some modernisation, but how to do that without ruining the old charm would be a challenge. Room had a great view from balcony overlooking the pool and you could see all across the bay to Naples and Vesuvius. All inclusive food is always repetitive. I've never been anywhere where it isn't, so I'm not going to complain about that. There was a good selection for all 3 meals per day. Food was exactly as I thought it would be. Peroni Nastro Azzuro was the draught beer, so that was pretty good as I was expecting a brand I'd never heard of. The hotel is lacking an atmosphere though. There needs to be some background music playing around the pool in the day and dining room and bar in the evening. Shuttle bus good and runs from 9am to 11pm. Jet 2 needs to read the reviews as I don't think it would take too much work to improve the holiday experience somewhat. This hotel should ooze the classic italianate feel of yesteryear. It has all it needs, it's so close. But jot quite there yet.
