We loved Hotel Settimo Cielo, Via Capo 27, 80067 in Sorrento. It’s up a fairly steep climb just outside of the town center so be aware of this if you have any mobility issues. The hotel has a parking area at street level (20 euros a day so quite pricey) and due to its cliffside location, reception is also at street level then you need to take internal stairs or the elevator down the cliffside to your room. The view from the 360 degree glass elevator is beautiful. Our room had a balcony with a spectacular sea view. The views are definitely the selling point of this hotel. That view will stay with us forever. Being able to overlook the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius in the distance was amazing. Reception looks a bit dated but the service was welcoming and friendly. They ask you to leave your key behind when you leave the hotel which seems really unnecessary and a holdover from the 70’s. The rooms were clean and cozy and very basic. The bathroom was clean and the towels fresh and adequate. The pool and sundecks area looked very nice although we visited in April so it was still a bit too cool to use. We did not eat at the hotel but the restaurant area looked clean and comfortable.

The hotel is perched on a cliff overlooking the gulf of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius and Marina Grande of Sorrento. The view is breathtaking, spectacular and enjoyable from any areas of the hotel. Rooms, also facing the sea, are modest, a bit outdated but clean and spacious enough. We booked an adapted room for wheelchair users and were happy with the size of the bathroom although the sink could have been slightly lower. A frame would have been better to access the toilet and also an arm frame to sit on the chair in the shower. Nevertheless, the stay was pleasant and relaxing. Breakfast is continental with savoury options too and freshly homemade baked cakes, which we enjoyed a lot. Our delicious soya milk cappuccinos and freshly squeezed orange juice were prepared at the bar by Giulio, who was always very attentive and helpful. A big thank you to Filomena and her sister Imma for going above and beyond with keeping our room tidy and clean, and for all the extra help. They were stars! The staff at reception was always welcoming, warm and helpful. Serena was prompt and supportive at all times. We recommend the hotel as it is value for money, bearing in mind that it is 15 minutes walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento city centre.
