“Family Owned Hotel Plus a New Years Miracle!!!”

This place is a family owned hotel. They are so nice!!! The breakfast served everyday did not disappoint. The staff always left the rooms clean and spotless. But the cherry on top was how helpful the manager was at the hotel. On New Years Day, my family were in a difficult position since we were supposed to drive to Agrigento that day but the garage where we parked the car was closed. The manager Paola worked effortlessly to contact the garage so we could access our car. She was also very sweet to serve us some sandwiches and champagne to celebrate the New Year and getting our car back! Highly recommend!!

Me and my wife stayed at the hotel in early Dec 2024. It was our first trip to Italy. While researching various hotels in Catania, we reached out to a few shortlisted properties and the responsiveness from the team at Hotel Centrum was the best. Once we checked in, the entire staff under Paula's management was very helpful and we felt very welcome during the stay. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel is a short walking distance to the central part of the town. We did use the paid parking garage that the hotel has, to park our small rental car but getting in and out does require good driving skills. Overall we had a great time and would love to come back some day.

We are senior citizens who tend to select boutique hotels to stay in to enhance the travel experience. Hotel Centrum did not disappoint. The proprietor is a lovely, kind, knowledgeable, and generous woman who (along with her staff) makes you feel immediately welcomed and cared for when you stay in her small 16 room hotel. The property has 24 hour concierge/attendant present, a lovely breakfast, and a nearby garage where you can store your auto. The room was extremely clean - newly renovated bathroom and it was a suitable size. It was located in the center of Catania - and we walked everywhere safely. We stay in a great range of hotels - from extremely high end to quite simple. Although Hotel Centrum is not your typical five star hotel - it is a unique property that is quite serviceable but the generous and kind care provided by the proprietor/owner takes it over the top.

I stayed for 4 nights at Hotel Centrum Catania in August 2024. On booking, I asked for a room on a higher floor not facing the main street. Upon arrival, early, I was given a room exactly as requested (no 405). Despite not a big hotel (a boutique I should say) it is very good value for money. The room was a double, very fine and fairly large by Italian standards. The bed was large, good pillows, I slept very well. Big plus: minibar, safe, cable TV. AC was well placed (not facing the bed) and worked very well. Bathroom was large by any standards, although strangely enough the shower cubicle was small. Very good water pressure, good quality towels. Both room and bathroom were kept very clean by daily service. Breakfast was absolutely exceptional! The “dolci” (the sweet part) were homemade, varied and delicious! The service needs mention as all the receptionist I engaged with (3 + the landlady) were competent with recommendations, smiling, accommodating, helpful in any way possible. All these makes any stay a joy for the guest. Special mention to lovely Giuliana! On the downside nothing really important. As said, the shower cubicle in my room was tight (in a large bathroom). Regarding the position, contrary to the name of the hotel, it is not exactly central, but not far from the historical center (5-7 min walk). However, it is helpfully located towards both the railway station and the main bus station (for Taormina, Siracusa etc). The bus stations for the airport bus (Alibus) are also fairly close to the hotel. Whenever in Catania I will gladly stay again at Centrum Hotel.
