I've just come home from a solo 5 night stay here and I had a brilliant time. Some of the first Sicilians I met were the hotel staff and they were wonderful. All friendly, warm and so welcoming. The hotel is in a perfect location for anyone not hiring a car. It's a beautiful old building with charm and character like most of Palermo. Room 203 (double) was spacious enough for me. With a decent size bathroom and powerful shower, bidet and a hairdryer. Also, decent aircon and a wardrobe with a spare blanket inside. Being in the centre of a busy city you'll already know not to expect complete silence at night. Get some earplugs and you'll be grand. There is always someone at reception which I found to be a comfort. The breakfast options cold meats, cheese, gorgeous pastries, cereals and fruit were plentiful and topped up regularly. A coffee machine too. On the third day it was my birthday and the lovely ladies surprised me with cake and a lit candle at breakfast, which I was not expecting at all. I was so touched! Such a sweet gesture that I'll never forget. For a 2 star hotel, it's fantastic value for money, prime location and fabulous staff. I'll be recommending to everyone ❤️

I just spent 4 nights here, from Thursday to Monday. Firstly, the location is amazing! It is right in the heart of Palermo and a stones throw away from everything you need The location could not have been better. This was the main reason I booked this hotel. The staff are fantastic. I arrived late at night and was greeted by name at the reception, which surprised me. Though I know they were expecting my booking, I thought it was a nice personal touch. The gentleman showed me to my room and carried my bag up to room 101 on the first floor. He showed me how everything worked and ensured I was okay before leaving. The room had everything I needed. It was clean, fresh sheets and towels, a hot shower with a decent amount of water pressure. My room was a single room but there was ample space for me. I get cold at night and found a clean blanket to use in the wardrobe as well as a hair dryer (there is already one in the bathroom) There was free toiletries in the way of individually wrapped soap bar and a pouch of body wash and shampoo. These were replenished daily, as well as the toilet roll. Towels and bedding are changed every 2 days. The door had a lock, which as a solo traveller is important to me. The shower trays weren't that deep so there is a risk of water going everywhere but as long as you're strategic with thr shower curtain, you will be fine. They provide you with floor towels. The aircon worked beautifully. I had read some reviews really slating the hotel for it's cleanliness and standards. I'll be honest. This is a budget friendly hotel in a central location. For me it was a place to rest at night, shower and keep my belongings safe. It did the trick. I hadn't planned on spending much time in the room as I was there to explore. It had the basics, and that's all I needed. The room was clean in that there was no dust or grime or filth. It did show signs of wear and tear, as any hotel would after time. Perhaps, yes it could do with an update. However, it reminded me of many other typical Italian hotels I have stayed in, so to modernise, it would lose some of its charm. I have stayed in some filthy 4* hotels and also stayed in some amazing 2* hotels. This hotel, in my opinion is fine for your basic needs. If you need a key safe, room fridge or mod cons, it's not the hotel for you. If you want a basic, budget friendly hotel then it will do nicely. Breakfast was included, this mainly consisted of pastries and cakes. There was bread, a toaster, cold meats and tomatoes as a savoury option and a lovely coffee machine, with juices too. Cereals were available as well as a small amount of fruit. I had breakfast twice here but also wanted to try breakfast in the city. The lady who works in the dining room was lovely. In fact all the staff were. There is no lift, so take this into consideration if bringing alot of luggage. There is a 24 hour bar, which I didn't use. If you leave the hotel, you must leave the key at the desk. The front door is locked, but as soon as you ring the bell, you are buzzed in straight away. During the week there is construction work going on in a building behind the hotel. This starts at 0730. It is rather noisy, but that is no fault of the hotels. The weekends, there is no work. The workers actually made me get up and out early enough and not lay in. This allowed me to make use of the full days. I have no idea what time thr works stopped as i was out all day. As for noise in the hotel, you can hear toilets flushing and people in the halls, as it is a small hotel. I am a very light sleeper, at night it is mostly quiet, with the exception of some fireworks and a car alarm going off nearby. I slept fine and I usually wake up if a spider blinks too loud lol. I will reiterate again. It is a budget hotel in the centre of Palermo! I'd happily return to this hotel if I was to come back, I'd also recommend it to my family and friends if they were also looking for a low cost hotel. On the day I checked out, I was able to leave my luggage in the reception area, there is no luggage room as such, but as the main door is locked and staff monitor the reception at all times, it was perfectly safe. It's easy to read the negative reviews and focus on the bad. But all in all, this hotel is perfectly fine for your basic needs, in my opinion. I'd sooner have more money for food and trips than a hotel room that can sing and dance. Hope this helps!
