I had a very great experience at Canto Del Sol. Lots of good things to highlight. The first good thing was the entertainment staff. The activities they had were lots of fun. My favourites were beach volleyball and water aerobics! The staff were enthusiastic, especially Julian, Naomy, Andres, Brenda, Carmelino, and Alicia. They made it very enjoyable. They held activity nights in the evenings, which were a blast as well. My favourites were the Decades night show, the Mexican night, with activities (that was the best night!!) and the karaoke nights they held in the lobby. The food was also very good. I have Celiac, so I needed gluten free accommodations and that was never a problem, which was great. The servers were all very hard working and friendly, especially Miguel, so welcoming in the mornings for breakfast! The A La Carte restaurants were good too, but the Mexican one was my favourite. The pool area was nice, very good pools, just not a ton of chairs for the amount of people there. The beach was swimmable which was awesome, there was just not a ton of room to walk in FRONT of the hotel, but you can walk down the beach to the left or right, which was nice. It was also very very clean. There was almost always someone mopping or sweeping around the pool. They had someone making sure people didn’t track in sand from the beach, and they had a guy with a hawk during the day to keep pigeons away. I had a very nice time at the hotel, I would love to come back. Highlight for me was the staff though, they were awesome. Pictures online didn’t do it justice!!!

“Ok resort but would look elsewhere!”

The resort was decent and the staff was great but I would not go back there. The food was not good at all at the buffets. It was the same food pretty much every night with a few added veggies or fish to the dish. Not much flavor at all. However if you are able to get a reservation for the restauran… more

The resort was decent and the staff was great but I would not go back there. The food was not good at all at the buffets. It was the same food pretty much every night with a few added veggies or fish to the dish. Not much flavor at all. However if you are able to get a reservation for the restaurants those meals were pretty good. But if you are not able to get reservations at a restaurant you are stuck eating at the buffet. I would rate the food overall a 4/10. The beach was terrible….could not swim or walk right out front of the resort. Had very big rocks and was not sandy. The sand that was there hurt your feet to walk in. However if you go down the beach either direction just a little ways the beach was much better and sand was softer. I never saw one person in the water out front of our resort. Evening entertainment was sub-par…nothing too exciting. Been to other resorts and entertainment was definitely better. Out of the 6 nights there we stayed and watched Karoke one night otherwise entertainment was nothing special. Spoke with many people at the resort and many were also disappointed in the food. I should mention lunch was the same thing everyday as well….down by the ocean was hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos and fries for an option. And then at the buffet was sub sandwich grilled up everyday and the same side dishes.
