We stayed at El Taj Oceanfront and Beachside Condo Hotel for 4 nights in a 2-bedroom apartment with the family, and it was a fantastic experience overall. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a washer and dryer, which was incredibly convenient. Daily cleaning service was provided, keeping the space spotless throughout our stay. The location is absolutely perfect—a quick walk to the famed 5th Avenue with its abundance of restaurants, shops, cafes, spas, and more. It's close to everything you might want to explore in Playa del Carmen. There were just a few minor quirks during our stay. One day, beach towels had run out, and during checkout, there was no staff available to assist with luggage. Additionally, at check-in, we were given wristbands to wear, which seemed unnecessary. However, these were minor inconveniences and did not detract from our overall excellent experience. I would definitely recommend El Taj if you're visiting Playa del Carmen. It’s a great place to stay for families and anyone looking to enjoy the area in comfort and style.

this hotel is beautiful and an excellent location super accessible to everything right on the water. Great service definitely would stay there again. The room is very nice and comfortable. I was very surprised with the full size kitchen and the views for my room on the first floor. There’s tons of vegetation in the ocean is right there and you can hear it at night when you sleep so it was great.

“Perfect peaceful condos a stone's throw from main street”
Rented condo 345 which is a 3 bed. Spotless clean and well- prepped with plenty of towels, a few sodas and water filtration system. It's very convenient to 5th Avenue (1 block) but quiet. Rented condo 345 which is a 3 bed. Spotless clean and well- prepped with plenty of towels, a few sodas and water filtration system. It's very convenient to 5th Avenue (1 block) but quiet. A/c great with individual controls in each room. Loads of space and roof terrace is huge. Note the stairs to it are outside so no direct access from inside the condo. Small suggestion would be to supply or sell a few things in the reception. Had to go hunting for milk for coffee at 6am. No luck in 7-11 even.! Would highly recommend for a family or group of friends. I thought it would be a great idea for 2 families to rent 345 and 340 condos and have the whole section as such. Really enjoyed our stay. Oh and beach is small but adequate and breakfast was yummy with great service.

The nearby nightclubs never bothered us. Breakfast on the beach was fantastic and the reception staff were excellent and incredibly friendly.

“A mixed bag, the important things were all good.”
The location is excellent, but the service is not so good. It is just steps away from the water. The location is excellent, but the service is not so good. It is just steps away from the water. The beach is gone, and there are only a few sacks of sand to keep the water from getting to the hotel wall. It has a nice little pool and a very picturesque view of the ocean from there. Don't expect a beach in front of the hotel. There is no beach nearby. You will have to walk 15 minutes if you want sand. Three things I hated: 1) NO TV. They had two TVs in my room, but they did not have cable service or antenna wired. When I asked about getting a cable box, they promised one. Four days later, they failed to produce one. Yet they never said no! 2) Parking is designed for only a few small cars (14) . 3) Calling the front desk from the room is impossible. Their phone system is screwed up, and you better be prepared to walk if you need anything. Knowing what I know now, I could stay there again, the area is safe, close to everything, but not on the stip where the noise is high. I would rate this place a solid 6. The mattress was excellent, and the cleaning people were very good.
