I must say, our stay at The Reef Playacar was an incredibly pleasant surprise. It truly offers one of the best price-to-quality ratios I’ve experienced. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with each featuring a balcony and a layout that immerses you in the heart of the jungle—which was my favorite aspect of the hotel. Unlike many resorts that feel like concrete jungles, this one is beautifully integrated into nature. Every day, we saw coatis, monkeys, and sereques, making it feel like a stay in a jungle sanctuary rather than just a hotel. The location is unbeatable—right on the beach, yet surrounded by lush greenery. The hotel isn’t massive, so it retains a cozy and personal atmosphere while still offering everything you need: restaurants, a pool area, a snack bar, and even free ice cream daily from 4 to 6 PM. The facilities are perfect for a week-long getaway without feeling overwhelming. The staff was exceptional—special thanks to Hugo, Mario, and Jeremi at the front desk, Cynthia at breakfast, and Obed at the snack bar. Their warmth and dedication made the experience feel like a five-star luxury service, despite the hotel’s budget-friendly pricing. For what you pay, I’d choose this place over the Ritz-Carlton any day. We traveled with friends and had an absolute blast—I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high-quality, budget-friendly getaway!

The staff was so nice. David, the drink and food manager and Enoy both provided excellent service and made sure we were taken care of. Overall a beautiful resort and I hope to come back. “Excellent, very homely hotel in the own ,,jungle garden" recommended in 100%”

The location, beach and 3floor separate ,,villas" in the jungle garden, with own cenote and especially coathies and aguties, which live in the middle of the garden-it was amazing! Also watter dispensers for everybody in the resort were wonderful! Beach always clean, even immediatelly cleaned from some sea grass when it comes one day. Kitchen was also nice, we would appreciate more sea food and mexican food... The only very unpleasant thing was the reception clerk JESUS, he was not helpful at all, he didn´t help us eith anything, even with the information about taxi of the hotel and especially - I think he offered the first night one room /from our 3/ in terrible status, not working key, with the hole after removed safe...that we had to ask him to change and it seemed he was expecting some pribery from us. He was behaving also to the other gests this way. But all other was perfect! Andrea with family

So beautiful! Staff were amazing, beach was gorgeous! Rooms are very nice and in cute villas all over the property. They have activities throughout the day and food and drinks all around. So beautiful! Staff were amazing, beach was gorgeous! Rooms are very nice and in cute villas all over the property. They have activities throughout the day and food and drinks all around. Spending whole days are lovely but the staff will also help you with taxi if you went to venture out. My one and only complaint is that the food is very average. You will not starve nor will you get sick but it is not amazing. I still have the resort a 5/5 because everything else was so great, I would definitely return!
