We stayed at Hotel Mocambo for 4 nights and were thoroughly charmed but it's 'faded glory' vibe. If you love wood, unique architecture and historic photos, this is the place for you. (Note: If you are looking for modern perfection, you will be disappointed.) The room: We booked a balcony room but were upgraded to a suite. The furnishings weren't luxurious but the room and balcony were huge. Very comfortable king size bed. (Note: the room we were originally assigned was also very large and comfortable.) The grounds: The sprawling grounds are terraced with lovely plants and flowers. The outdoor pool is huge! The building housing the 2 indoor pools was spectacular. The staff: Consistently friendly and helpful. The food: Delicious breakfast and coffee included in the price of the room. We loved to eat on the spacious terrace outside the restaurant. We hope to return to this hotel and share the experience with our family.

Fantastic hotel. Absolutely stunning architecture everywhere you look. Gorgeous views of the gulf. I love that nothing seems to have been changed since the hotel was originally designed, but everything has been decently well maintained. The restaurant serves delicious food at a very good price. Service was cordial and went beyond what was requested. The only issue I had was with getting wifi in some parts of the resort. If the wifi issue is corrected there is no reason not to stay at this hotel. I plan to return.

“Old Colonial Style with old colonial style service”
I've been going to the Mocambo for about 20 years. It's a little bit run down but it's top of the line in everything else. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. I've been going to the Mocambo for about 20 years. It's a little bit run down but it's top of the line in everything else. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. You can find cheaper places and you can find newer places but if you want to FEEL Mexico, this is the place. Excellent view of the Gulf of Mexico. Experience this hotel before there are no more hotels like it.

This is a hotel that has seen better days but have no complaints. Only stayed 2 separate nights but had quite a nice room and seemed clean though someone in our group complained of cockroaches in the bathroom but I didn’t see any. This is a hotel that has seen better days but have no complaints. Only stayed 2 separate nights but had quite a nice room and seemed clean though someone in our group complained of cockroaches in the bathroom but I didn’t see any. Only had one breakfast and dinner and they were ok. Extensive grounds and a pool but didn’t have time to swim. Hotel is surrounded by ugly development and lots of traffic but was certainly a good choice arriving and departing from Veracruz.
