“Great reception staff”
After British Airways left the plane full of passengers stranded without any help at Faro airport, we ended up at the Monaco hotel by chance, just after midnight. The reception staff were brilliant, really kind, and in the morning helped us to do what was impossible the night before - to get a taxi… more
After British Airways left the plane full of passengers stranded without any help at Faro airport, we ended up at the Monaco hotel by chance, just after midnight. The reception staff were brilliant, really kind, and in the morning helped us to do what was impossible the night before - to get a taxi to our original destination of Malaga. We didn’t see too much of the hotel but it was clean, comfortable and with a nice breakfast. It was the kindness of the people that made it special.

“Reasonably priced hotel, a little out of town.”
My sons and I stayed at this hotel between 4th-7th June in a 3 bedded room. Overall it was a very good stay. The room/bathroom was clean. The fridge could be a tad noisy. The fridge proved useful as there is no tea/coffee facilities in the room and there is a supermarket quite close by. Breakfast… more
My sons and I stayed at this hotel between 4th-7th June in a 3 bedded room. Overall it was a very good stay. The room/bathroom was clean. The fridge could be a tad noisy. The fridge proved useful as there is no tea/coffee facilities in the room and there is a supermarket quite close by. Breakfast was excellent and the limited meals at the bar were also very good, and not too expensive. There is a small swimming pool and a gym room.

My good review is based on two members of staff. The hotel is ordinary, could use a convenient coffee machine, especially in the reception area. What raises this hotel is two members of staff. I booked this hotel for its convenience to Faro airport. The day before I had a nasty fall at the airport which required hospital treatment. I was in a lot of pain and had to find accommodation while awaiting my flight. Early on the morning of my flight, the pain woke me about six am. In reception a female receptionist from Ecuador treated me with respect and kindness offering me a coffee. Had time to have a conversation which distracted me from my pain. Another person of note was the young man in the bar/restaurant, who needs some assistance. Made nice food and with a pleasant demeanour.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It's a distance from all the faro amenities, but it only a few euros in an Uber to reach the heart of faro. There is a free shuttle bus each morning and evening to take you to and from the faro old town and the beach, but we chose to do things on our own schedule. It was only my son and I who stayed here for 4 nights. We loved how quiet the pool area was, and spent lots of time there. The hotel is basic, but clean and served our needs well. The air conditioning in the room was a must! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly, particularly the lady working at the bar. The hotel was clean, although a little dated. But that didn't bother us. Breakfast wasn't the best I've seen, but we enjoyed what he ate. Quality of food in general was poor. We had dinner by the pool one night, and it was terrible. But that is the only negative of our holiday. We booked the shuttle bus to take us to the airport after check out. This was a seamless process, and it was very helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our few days spent at hotel Monaco.

I have decided to change my review and focus on the positives rather than moaning about negatives. It’s true, there was a lack of sleep first three nights, however I could’ve asked reception to change rooms earlier. When I asked to change rooms, I successfully moved to a different room at the back of the building. Although I could hear dogs barking during the night, it only happened a few times, to be honest these were neighbour dogs and not really anything the hotel can do. On a positive note, the hotel is very clean and tidy the toilets are checked every hour and this is good to see. The staff are really helpful too, and the pool, although is small is good for a quick dip to cool down. The location of this hotel is also good because it’s only €6 in an Uber to get to Faro city. It is also only around €7 to catch an Uber to beach. Generally hotel is three stars but a good 3 Star hotel. Breakfast could be better and I would like to see fresh orange juice rather than a push button machine. I am writing this review as I sit in the reception area with two hours to kill before my flight. As I sit here, I’m looking at the floor which is visibly clean and the staff member at reception is observed as really helpful to a new arrival. With all of this in mind, I think it is only fair that I change my review to a fairer one 🙌🏽💕
