Riccardo , Lilliana, Fabio amd the entire staff are exceptional in every way. They speak English and so made us very comfortable. They each exemplify hospitality in their treatment and service with every guest. The hotel is beautifully situated on the coast view extraordinary views of the sea the town and the cliffs beyond. This is an excellent place to call home while exploring the rest of the island. We came in Jan. (2025). The breakfast is an expansive display of food not a simple buffet but a full course meal with great coffee to wake me up. The sun rose over our balcony to greet us. We are so pleased and look forward to another week here.

This hotel is lovely the staff are fantastic they were here throughout Christmas and were very pleasant and polite,food was wonderful and Christmas eve dinner was a triumph, there are bus stops right outside the door I would recommend getting a seven day pass and. you can hop on and off with ease, indoor pool and jacuzzi were clean and the people were lovely,the only downside for me were that the beds were too hard for my back and legs,but overall an amazing Christmas stay

I stayed here with my family (wife and 2 small children) for a short break and overall the hotel is very good, has excellent facilities and the room and bathroom were a good size. We had an apartment with a partial sea view with a sofa bed and a twin bed. Whilst we did have a pleasant experience there are a few things of note: 1. Firstly the hotel is split into seperate building which is not an issue as it is across the it did mean that we had to go to the next building for breakfast. Also to use the pool facilities we had to go to the next building. There is an underground connection between the 2. 2. Whilst the location offers scenic views of Madeira we found that it was not very practical as it was quite far from the city centre which meant we had to take a taxi which cost around 10 to 12 euros. This is not an issue usually but you will need to make sure you have euros with you as there are no nearby money exchanges so unless you request a taxi with a card machine. There is a shopping centre nearby within walking distanceand lots of restaurants. 3. The hotel has a good size pool as well as an indoor heated pool. 4. The staff were ok but we felt they could have been a bit more helpful and more friendly. They had a xmas display in the lobby and my daughter accidentally broke 2 of the figurines and they forced us to pay 100 euros even though it was an accident which we felt was a bit extreme! 5. I didn't find the beds to be too comfortable but the room was spacious with lots of space. 6. Breakfast had lots of options with cooked and continental options. All in all the hotel is good with lots of facilities but not really close to Funchal city centre. The nearest money exchange is in plaza madeira but make sure you take your passport with you.

Christmas visit. This hotel is well presented and very clean. The cleaners are at it every day doing a good job. We stayed in C block the rooms are big with a kettle for tea & coffee. Christmas visit. This hotel is well presented and very clean. The cleaners are at it every day doing a good job. We stayed in C block the rooms are big with a kettle for tea & coffee. You can ask for an iron at reception free of charge. The TV has a lot of English channels. Pool towels changed at reception daily. Block A has a library and a sun terrace on the 6 floor. Ideal for sun worshippers. The bar area is a bit confusing in the evening. As they use it for dining as well when it gets too busy . So you have no where to sit if you want just a drink which is a shame as it’s a nice area for people watching. The gardens and pool area are well maintained get the sun all day if you just want to lounge around and catch a tan. Breakfast is the busiest time of the day and have a lot to choose on the food side hot and cold but they only have 1 coffee choices in an urn which was rank. (I’d recommend they get a coffee machine.) I was told I could buy a coffee from the bar. THE CHEEK it’s a 4 Star hotel. There was a lot of families staying at the hotel with kids. But the hotel doesn’t really accommodate for kids. That didn’t really bother me as we don’t have any. There is a big shopping centre across the way 5 - 10 min walk depending on what block you were staying in and the old town (shipping port) was 45 min walk. A nice walk. Under the hotel are caves. The caves make it easy to get to the rocky beach and little local bars (£2.50 large wine) the last 2 bars are the best along this walk way.
