Recently returned from a family holiday 1 week away in Benidorm. The Melia Benidorm is a lovely hotel and you are greeted in reception by an abundance of trees and plants etc. Very nice on the eye. LOCATION - Brilliant location but then where isn't in Benidorm. Lidl directly across from the hotel. To your left The Corner Bar that did a great breakfast and sunday dinners (The one in the hotel itself actually wasnt bad either and had a great selection). The Tropical Bar further up on the left (2 min walk) is child friendly and has entertainment on which is good. China Garden the chinese a 2 min walk right of the hotel is spot on. Always busy as well which shows something. 10 minute walk to beach front, 10 minute walk to "main" strip, 25 minute walk to old town. ROOM - Our room was a standard room with two twins beds and a sofa bed for our 2 year old son, spacious enough to accommodate us. However the room could have been cleaner in our opinion. Probably our own fault for not mentioning it at the start but there were a few ants dotted about which turned into a few more by the end of the week. The room/bathroom needed abit of TLC with exposed pipework on show and a very loose plug socket on the wall in reach for our child so had to be careful. Our bins were emptied only once by the cleaners for the whole week and toilet roll, tea bags, coffee etc wasn't refilled. The beds felt like they were just remade and no fresh sheets put on (cant confirm this but they didn't feel fresh). So we probably should of asked to move rooms early on looking back. Cruzcampo on draft at the hotel bar which was a bonus, cheap as chips as well. Shuts at 1am, maybe later in season. Entertainment, didnt really try it in the hotel but when we got back one night they had karaoke on. Pool area very nice but too cold to experience it all in February, there is an indoor pool which you can use though. £2 for a hair net cap thing which we found out when we were already in. Would stay again but would upgrade to a better room.

“Decent enough hotel in need of some upgrading of rooms.”

Just had a five night stay as two couples in a Skyline room. Nice hotel very busy for the time of year. Breakfast was decent enough and although never tried the pool was well kept. Just had a five night stay as two couples in a Skyline room. Nice hotel very busy for the time of year. Breakfast was decent enough and although never tried the pool was well kept. Rooms were ok prob nearing an upgrade cracked tiles mould etc in bathroom and broken facia on balcony but was fine for us. Room was roasting on arrival couldn’t get the air con to work so called reception to be told central located and cannot be changed from 22 degrees in Spanish winter found this astounding we had to leave the patio doors open all day to keep temp down for night time they said would try source a fan but that never materialised but we bought a small tabletop one .

“disappointed”

Very disappointed I booked This hotel for a weekend as a treat for my husband as looked lovely needs updating stayed bed and breakfast well the breakfast was not acceptable Shouldn’t be allowed to dish food like that the sausages will burnt and tasted weird. Very disappointed I booked This hotel for a weekend as a treat for my husband as looked lovely needs updating stayed bed and breakfast well the breakfast was not acceptable Shouldn’t be allowed to dish food like that the sausages will burnt and tasted weird. The tomatoes were weird. The hashbrowns while they were dry like they were left from the day before so have to go out for breakfast the nested day ,, indoor pool is what I really liked on the picture. It was big and heated especially being this time of year to go there to be told that it is compulsory that I have to wear a swim hat really on holiday swim hat. I told them that I do get spots and I didn’t wanna wear a swim hat but I would keep my head out of the water and my hair as high on my head as I can but they were having none of it. I said well it’s not on their website that is compulsory which they should put by the way. The 20 odd years I’ve been coming abroad I have never heard anyone say you have to wear a swim hat in an indoor pool definitely will not be coming back to this hotel
