“A Lovely Apartment But Isolated”

First off, research where these apartments are. I had thought they were in central Benalmadena but they are a good 7km walk out of the town. Fuengirola is a 5 minute walk from the apartments. On my first day I walked about 14km into Benalmádena for some shopping and back. The rest of the trip I based myself in Fuengirola which I was already familiar with. I arrived late about 10pm. I was issued check in information and a wrist band at the gate house on arrival. This is a gated resort which is great for security. On arrival to the apartments there is a huge glass lobby looking out to the sea with lots of seating, vending machines, information etc. It is underused but lovely. There is an empty feel to the building as it is unmanned - I didn’t find this a problem. The rooms themselves are lovely. Very specious, modern, smart TV’s, balcony, lots of lighting. The hot tub on the balcony was empty and covered over which was a disappointment as I was looking forward to this since I booked. The views from the balcony out to the sea and Fuengirola are lovely. There is very little in the way of equipment for self catering. There is no oven (I didn’t need one but be aware) there are only 2 kitchen utensils. Basic things such as salt and pepper, perhaps cooking oil (in Spain in Lidl this is €15!!), and a tea towel should be provided in my opinion. But again, I managed for the week. The neighbouring Hotel Riwo was not open for the first 3 days of my stay. Riwo houses a shop, bar, restaurant etc so I was without this for the first few days so found myself going into town most days. I did have dinner at Riwo one night which is a buffet at the reduced rate of €22.50 if you stay at Casamaia. As per the reviews here already, the food isn’t warm. It wasn’t the greatest food and I did order a takeaway afterwards, but it does the job. The outdoor area at Casamaia is nice and has great views. There are sun loungers and day beds and a lovely looking swimming pool. The pool however was freezing cold and unheated. I thought the sun may have heated it but no. I didn’t see a single person use the pool in the week I was there which is a shame as it looks a lovely pool. As with the hot tub, this was a let down. There is a shuttle service from the bottom of the resort to the top, but as with Riwo, this didn’t start until 3 days into my stay. Staff that I did meet were lovely and helpful. The spa in Casamaia is superb. You get one free visit included in your stay, thereafter it is €20. Housekeeping visit every 4 days. In a nutshell, I would stay here again. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Personally I enjoy walking so I wasn’t phased by the distance issues. There is also a great and cheap bus service outside the resort. I would really like to see improvement to kitchen equipment and the hot tub and pool.

We enjoyed a fabulous week in Benalmadena staying in the Casamaia Apartments. Very clean and comfortable with great views of the sea and bay round to Fuengirola. Just a few things that could be improved on would be a small sharp knife for preparing fruit and vegetables. A tin opener, a masher and a fish slice in the kitchen would have been good. The towels are very small but more were instantly provided on request. Our only real downside was the hot tub featured in the blurb was not working and we were expected to pay 20 Euros per person each day to use the indoor spa and swimming pool. Casamaia is about 7KM away from Central Benalmadena but is ideally placed for very affordable buses all along the Costa Del Sol. The nearest train station at Carvajal is a 15 minute walk away with very regular trains. The staff, Sylvia in particular, were very friendly and helpful.

This is absolutely the most perfect place for a Family to Holiday. The Apartments are Beautiful, spacious and well equipped, each one has 2 bedrooms, and 2 balconies per Apartment. The complex is safe, secure, and manned 24 hours. The pool area is wonderful and quiet, atop a hillside, with Fabulous views 360. Cabanas available by the pool, and additional seating poolside too, there is a bar, but its only used for weddings and private events, however we made good use of the Freezer! The Apartment building is a part of a much larger complex of huge Hotels, and you have access to all pools, entertainment and Bars, however, they cannot access the Apartment building, so privacy and peace is what you return to. There is a complimentary shuttle bus that takes you round the complex, every 10/15 minutes, and runs until midnight, however the walk really isn't worth a grumble, especially when you have 3 opportunities to stop at the other venues and enjoy a drink and entertainment en route. Closest bar is the Fabulous Gecko, 5 minutes from the drop off point ( walk to the right of the great big Elephant Roundabout) with beachtop bar, DJ's, comfy beanbags, and a great little food shack in the corner, serving the best Cerviche on the beach, and very child friendly, at all times. Beach is another 5/10 minutes on foot, (dependant on how many dogs you stop to pet) but it's beautiful scenery all round, and a pleasant and comfortable walk for most ages. Supermarket is on the main street, and sells fresh pastries all day, and prepared to eat fruit, which was a winner for the beach. We walked to Torremolinos, ( left of the Elephant Roundabout) and Fuengirola, ( to the right) but both can be easily accessed by bus. There is a local bus pass that is 10 e, and you can easily get a weeks travel by this alone, (bought from tobacconist). The Lobby area, is beautiful, but clearly very underused, the Children utilised it for shade and reading space, snacking and Social media updates... Hanging chairs, beautiful glass tables, quirky furniture, a purple glass 4 storey staircase, glass elevators, trailling planting from top to bottom, and on the top floor is a communal balcony, where the views are perfect. Others have mentioned the lack of reception and staff, but it literally is 1 minute from the entrance, and really no issue. To summise, a very very relaxing and peaceful holiday, in Beautiful surroundings, with my favourite people, and YES!!! i would 100% return.

A little gem! You may not be centrally located but you cannot beat the view and the peace and quiet. Transportation is only provided down and up the winding hills as the opening season begins. The bus stops at the base of the property where you can access local buses. There is an option to dine at the other two hotels on the property. I found them to be expensive. The spa is absolutely wonderful. Anna is so polite and accommodating. I ended my vacation with a facial. One of the best I have ever had. The apartments are very comfortable. Everything you need in a basic kitchen. If you are looking to be located around the shops and restaurant this is not for you unless you are willing to travel to them. I received exceptional hospitality from Silvia who made my vacation a place I would want to return to.

On arrival we were greeted by two lovely ladies whos names i forget. The room was lovely & well equipped but the nearest supermarket was next door at a hotel with the same company & it was not stocked with much but we made do. The hotel is in a lovely location for views & is really nicely laid out but it is high up & quite a walk if you have a disability which is the only negative thing i can say. The train station is only 20 mins walk away & excellent price & regular & you can use the buses. The Hotel complex has a security entrance at the bottom of the road which is good as you have to show your wristband to gain access in taxis. We ordered a take out & the security would not let the delivery man come to us,we fetched it from security so another up & down hill climb but at least they are very safety concious. Overall superb appartments & location just be aware of the walking.
