The food at the hotel is exceptional with so much choice that a week is not enough. Will definitely be going to this hotel again.

This was excellent hotel based in a great location. The hotel staff were very friendly, polite and could not be more welcoming. On arrival, I was offered an upgrade into the reserve part of the hotel and wished I had taken up the offer. The reserve offered another level in what was already a very good standard.I would recommend this hotel very much and will return in the future.

We visited for a week in the sun with some friends, and from start to finish the service was nothing short of exceptional and some of the best we've had in a hotel like this. I'd put it up there with Ikos Resorts for the most part. The building shows it's age, but that's the point - it's part of César Manrique's legacy on the island and it's still very well maintained and was spotlessly clean. We'd booked a villa which included a transfer from the airport, it was a seamless transfer from airport and into the Reserve lounge to wait to check in. Carina checked us in and she was professional and very friendly, always giving us a smile and wave when she saw us in the week. Chloe the guest experience manager also introduced herself to us as well as checking up on us in the week, and we were given a tour by a destination concierge. Paula was also always about with a smile on her face checking if we needed anything. All the destination concierges were great to deal with, either via WhatsApp or face to face. Lucia and Chandni really stood out as we'd mainly dealt with them. The villa was lovely, clean and very comfortable. It included a full minibar of soft drinks, as well as full bottles of spirits. The hotel were quite happy to accommodate any requests such as extra water or bottles of your favourite mixers too. They also very kindly provided a couple of extra loungers outside so our friends could join us by our private pool. They delivered treats every now and then ranging from Aloe Vera one night to bottles of Malvasia wine and Cava. The food was of a good quality - we tried all the restaurants. La Graciosa and Capella were lovely, Samira and Malva didn't stand out as much but certainly weren't bad. We ate at the Reserve Pool Bar and Ginger for lunch and they were very good, nothing too fancy but decent sandwiches and salads for lunch. We also enjoyed the Reserve breakfast. There's a good range of cocktails and spirits in the bars, although sometimes the odd cocktail wasn't so consistent. They were happy to make you anything you wanted if they could though and Angel managed a really good team of people in Ginger. The only downside to the drinks is I felt the wine range was a little limited to a hotel of this standard with upcharges for just slightly better wines as well as much fancier bottles. The Reserve Pool Bar staff were also fantastic and very friendly. We were lucky enough to try one of the excursions as well, and visited El Grifo and La Geria for a wine tour and tasting, that was fun! Yes, the pools are bracing! Although I'm not sure it's such an easy fix I'd like to think they can eventually improve on that. The villa pool did seem heated however. Personally I felt the Villa and access to the Reserve was worth the upgrade, but it all depends on what you see value in for your holiday. It certainly still wouldn't be bad not staying in the Reserve. The app is a little bit clunky since it's update, but the staff will also make bookings for you, and as we were a group of 4 across 2 separate reservations they were pro-active and made reservations for the 4 of us in advance so we could try all the restaurants. Sure, there are things that the hotel could do better, but it was still fantastic and we've already booked to return. It's the service that really stood out, and that's the most important part. Every member of staff we came across was super friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

We stayed in March for my 50th birthday in a Garden Villa named Beatriz. The check in was so friendly and swift and we were introduced to our concierge for 8 nights, Chandri (apologies if incorrectly spelled) who was so lovely. On first impressions, Villa Beatriz was stunning and I was blown away that this was all ours for 8 nights! The villa was tucked away in a corner of the grounds furthest from the ocean. My initial thoughts was that we would have peace and quiet during our stay but this was interrupted regularly by lorries, deliveries, buses and cars at the back of the hotel and in the car park to the side. If we were to return, we would request a different location. We also suggested some improvements while we were there, such as a magnifying mirror. These are available in the hotel rooms (we have stayed before), but not in the villas which was strange. Also, as the bed has posts, so you can’t have a lazy morning watching TV in bed without a post in the way of the screen. Outside, I really struggled to get up onto the day bed too which was built quite high! Please provide another step or a small stool to help for us short people! One last thing, is to prune the palm trees more regularly. We had an unfortunate incident where big pieces of bark and tree came crashing down one day onto the sun beds. Thankfully, we were in the villa packing to come home but could have been injured. The hotel took a while to come and clear the mess but didn’t clean the pool meaning we couldn’t use the area on our last day. Small things but easy to change in our view. The villas could do with a little TLC too as some doors don’t close properly, fixtures a worn and floor tiles broken. We love the food (in particular Malva) as we love variety. Some of the menus in the ala carte restaurants are too restrictive for us and we like to just rock up for breakfast, lunch and dinner when it suits us rather than being tied to a reservation time. Ginger bar and the reserve pool bar do some great drinks and cocktails too! Improvements in these areas would be the service. Sometimes we had the feeling that we were being ignored. On several occasions in both Malva and Ginger I had to get up to ask to be served and at one point I poured water for us in Malva. An area which we love too is the reserve lounge. It’s lovely to sit in peace and quiet and to be able to help yourself to drinks and snacks. The villas have a lovely big fridge and we stocked up with some alternative drinks from the supermarket across the road too. Lastly, I would like to thank you all for a lovely stay and for the special birthday gifts which I will always cherish and remember. I have given a rating of four due to the few improvements suggested. Overall, would I return, most definitely!
