Hotel Emblemático San Marcos is an old restored ‘casa señorial canaria’ from XVIII century where art and relaxation combine perfectly. We have spent two lovely days in one of their suites with a great view to the narrow street. What I liked most about this space was their patio and garden, an oasis of relaxation filled with palm trees, banana trees and so many other exotic plants. Loved also how they’ve kept everything so traditional, including the common areas, the salon and the breakfast area. By the way, the hosts are super nice and they have great breakfast with fresh fruits, sweets, coffee, tea and eggs. If you plan a trip to Tenerife I truly recommend you to stop by this charming village and stay at Hotel Emblemático San Marcos for a relaxing experience.

“So relaxing”

We spent a full week in this lovely hotel in November. Our room had a small balcony and overlooked the garden-so quiet with full blackout so sleep was easy. The hotel is set up for differing tastes with a large roof area for sunbathing, an inner courtyard and a garden which supplied our breakfast bananas. All the rooms are well appointed with a very comfortable lounge which is a rare find these days. There was even a little reading room. Maria and Marie couldn’t have been more helpful with great ideas about where to go and what to do, even down to our journey to the airport where we were persuaded to stop in Laguna and Candelaria. Icod was a good choice to stay in. There are good local restaurants and places of interest, but as important to us, it had a bus station which meant we could leave the car behind and travel in all directions on the very efficient and cheap bus service. We went to Orotava, San Marcos, Garachico, los Realtos. It also is a good spot for accessing walks and trails. The weather in the north can be a bit cloudy at times. We were fortunate but on two cloudy days we simply took the bus the hour over to Los Gigantes which was bathed in sunshine. Here we enjoyed a day ticket for the Oasis Pool area- lovely area to chill and a good size infinity swimming pool. The hotel is also very central to all amenities and there is plenty of parking nearby. I would highly recommend.

“Small simple traditional central hotel”

Very old fashioned simple hotel in the centre of Icod. No permanent staff, phone number on front door of pedestrianised street. Simple bedroom over looking street, with two single beds pushed together to appear as a double. No air-conditioning, no safe, very posh shower cubicle in small bathroom. C… more

Very old fashioned simple hotel in the centre of Icod. No permanent staff, phone number on front door of pedestrianised street. Simple bedroom over looking street, with two single beds pushed together to appear as a double. No air-conditioning, no safe, very posh shower cubicle in small bathroom. Cool courtyard with 24hour self service coffee, tea and wine. Breakfast room attached to courtyard with simple buffet and eggs cooked to order. The free car park is underground several hundred metres down the hill from the hotel. But it would be possible to drop luggage off at the end of the street outside Beneton.

“Great building in the city centre. Need to phone to gain entry. Rooms dark but amazing public rooms”

Took a bit of time getting in but the staff very helpful once in with advice on restaurants etc. Our room very large and amazing building but almost too dark to read by. Took a bit of time getting in but the staff very helpful once in with advice on restaurants etc. Our room very large and amazing building but almost too dark to read by. Roof terrace and garden plus public rooms made up for it. Good continental breakfast. We amended our booking to 2 nights from 3 . There was street parking but like a lot of Tenerife it is a lottery.
