This was my first time in Tenerife and this hotel was amazing, the staff were very friendly & helpful, the room was spacious and clean with linen changes everyday and an amazing balcony with fantastic views. Centrally located for everything we wanted to do or wanted to go. We enjoyed our time here so much, we've already booked up for 9 nights this September, I couldn't have wished for anything better and can't wait to go back again.

We have just returned from our third amazing holiday at 4Dreams Hotel, Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife and cannot speak more highly of this super little hotel! But before I continue my review I have to repeat what I've emphasised in earlier reviews, for those of you thinking of staying here . . . IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE LUXURY OF A FIVE STAR HOTEL THEN 4DREAMS WILL NOT BE FOR YOU! HOWEVER, IF YOU DO BOOK 4DREAMS YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, BECAUSE WHAT YOU WILL GET IS A VERY CLEAN,CENTRALLY LOCATED, WELL-RUN, COMFORTABLE HOTEL WITH FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT, HELPFUL AND WELCOMING STAFF! IT'S ALSO GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY! Ok, so 4Dreams Hotel does look a bit tired and some carpets maybe a bit worn (as other reviewers have mentioned), but before some people start imagining a run-down, neglected, typical 60s style hotel, this is definitely not the case with 4Dreams! Moreover, there are far more important factors to consider rather than a few worn carpets, which support this special hotel. With 65 rooms on 4 floors plus swimming pool and sun terrace we believe 4Dreams is the best value for money hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. As we entered our room on the fourth floor we immediately saw that it had been cleaned very well and smelled lovely and fresh, as did everywhere else in the hotel! All rooms are cleaned daily, if required. Our double room with twin beds was spacious having two large built-in wardrobes with shelves, more than enough room for our month's stay. The room was also lovely and quiet with very little noise either internally or externally. An added bonus was that our room was just below the sun terrace and swimming pool which meant us climbing a mere six steps to reach them! Plus our room was within sight of one of the hotel's two lifts which was so useful. Our twin beds were very comfortable and we both slept extremely well throughout our stay however, during a couple of nights when it got a little chilly the extra blankets and pillows provided were very useful. During warmer nights we would leave the patio doors open bringing in welcomed fresh air which cooled the room beautifully. Our bathroom was well equipped with a bath plus an efficient shower with plenty of fast flowing hot water, sink, bidet and again more than enough shelving for both of us to display our toiletries etc. The white towels provided were nice and soft and could be changed if left on the floor or in the bath to be collected by the cleaning staff. All rooms are provided with a fridge which we found so useful because it meant we could buy fresh salads every day to have at lunch times as well as keeping our drinks chilled. Great! An airer was also provided which meant that when our clothing became a little sweaty we were able to give them a quick rinse before putting them out to dry on the balcony where within two or three hours they were perfectly dry to wear again! Our balcony was equipped with a table and two chairs plus two sunbeds but because we were so close to the sun terrace directly above us, most days we did our sunbathing next to the pool. Brilliant! Without a doubt, this lovely hotel in prime position for supermarkets, a great shopping mall, restaurants and cafes, as well as beach, harbour and pretty much everything else is a real gem! Within a couple of minutes you are literally in the midst of so much activity! Great restaurants and shops, ice cream parlours, colourful street vendors, musicians and street artists and even a casino. You really are spoilt for choice! Puerto de la Cruz is a quaint coastal town which offers so much for a great relaxing holiday. I have to say, the nature of the resort attracts mainly the older generation which proves ideal for those looking for a more staid, gentle type of holiday. The mood here evolves from a friendly, carnival-like atmosphere to a warming feel that is both soothing, peaceful and at times almost serene as holidaymakers, groups and families slowly but quietly meander and drift through the town. Such unhurried leisurely lifestyle quickly becomes most endearing, being in complete contrast to the cut and thrust of the UK's faster pace of everyday life. One of our favourite locations nearest 4Dreams Hotel is Plaza del Charco, the hub and oldest part of the town full of character and charm. Here you'll find some beautiful well-tended gardens and a most elegantly ornate church, Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Pena Francia. Over the Christmas period this entire area was lit up beautifully with thousands of colourful lights creating a truly spectacular sight! This location also seems to be the most popular and where people like to gather either to enjoy dining out or just to be together - and literally only two minutes from 4Dreams! During our stay we found this area an ideal vantage point to view the spectacular Christmas procession as it slowly wound its way through the town. And all this in less than a couple of minutes from 4Dreams! Not surprising, we found so much to do we didn't have time to view the flat screen television in our room, however, on those evenings when my favourite football team were playing, I'd wander down to the Bee Hive Pub to watch the match on one of their six big television screens, only a three minute walk from 4 Dreams! Here there's always a great atmosphere without the noise and sometimes rowdiness of UK pubs plus I always found plenty of fans to chat with whilst watching the beautiful game! On many sunny days we sunbathed by the hotel's pool where we enjoyed hours just relaxing and chilling out as well as the occasional dip because the the water was, let's say, invigorating - pretty cold! These were really special occasions and so far removed from the icy temperatures we left behind in the UK especially living on the windy East Coast by the North Sea! On most visits to the sun terrace it was so quiet and there was always plenty of sunbeds and parasols available. Absolute heaven! Here, you'll also get a good view of Mount Teide the island's volcano and focal point where you can take a great photo of it. As already mentioned, 4Dreams provides two lifts which is quite unusual for such a small hotel. This proved to be quite a bonus for us being on the fourth floor, particularly as my partner finds it difficult climbing stairs following reconstruction knee surgery. Furthermore, at no time during our stay did we have to wait for a lift! Opposite the hotel's reception is a coffee vending machine. The coffee is ok - but for just one euro? Close by there is also some scales where you can weigh your suitcases before heading back to the airport for your return flight. It may just save you worrying whether or not your luggage exceeds the airline's limit! Better be safe than sorry! 4Dreams provide free WIFI which sadly was very intermittent during our stay despite engineers working on the system trying to restore the service. However, there are many local cafes and eateries nearby which provide the same, so having a coffee there will quickly remedy the situation. It only took us a 15 minute walk from 4Dreams to the bus station where there's an excellent bus service to the capital Santa Cruz and other surrounding towns worth visiting. We loved travelling by bus which was a very cheap way of travel and so much better than hiring a car. This was due to the busy Christmas and New Year period when there was so much traffic congestion caused by vehicles entering the town making parking almost impossible. If you're into car boot sales check out the Municipal indoor and outdoor market on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting at 8am. From 4Dreams it only took us 20 minutes to walk there. So, how do we rate 4Dreams hotel? We loved our month's holiday staying there and cannot wait until December to spend a further six weeks there. Christmas and New Year was just magical especially enjoying average temperatures of around 24-28 degrees. The hotel rooms are very clean and the hotel always smells lovely and fresh. The cleaning staff work very hard. So well done and thank you ladies, your hard work was much appreciated! We went on so many wonderful walks whilst staying at 4Dreams our favourite being through the banana plantation and on to Bollullo where you'll find San Diego a superb fish restaurant. Check out the fabulous fish dishes. They are amazing! So many things to do - and so many happy memories! Lastly, I have so much respect and admiration for the 4Dreams reception staff, two of the nicest people you're ever likely to meet who are always so pleasant and happy to greet you, whatever time of day it is. Especially Silvia, who is such an asset to 4Dreams. Her charming and helpful manner is such a delight and nothing is too much trouble for her. A true professional! The same can be said regarding Javier who is also a superb help to guests. His happy and pleasant manner is so welcome especially when arriving after a long journey! The only problem is, he supports Bilbao and I support Manchester City. But that's another story! Roll on December! Lee A
