“Next to the river”
It is not only next to the river, it is also very centrally located. If you have something to do in the city center, and maybe even in the university FURB, it is on walking distance. The pool is not a "king size", but is is enough for you to cool down the hot days.

The staff was very accommodating to us as we were using Blumenau for the center of our cycling vacation. We stayed there four times over three weeks and they allowed us to keep our car there while we were gone. Not that many people would need this particular assistance, but it demonstrates their willingness to help us on our trip. They were in the process of updating the air conditioners and furniture in many of the rooms. Strong Wi-Fi. Very good breakfast buffet. One of the few places we stayed with any English programming.

I stay very often at this Hotel. It is renovated, and now the rooms have nice air conditioner, a modern TV, and very good WIFI connection. The furniture is a little dark but it does not bother much. The breakfast is really very good. A traditional Blumenau breakfast, with several kind of cakes, breads, fruits, juices, coffee...... A small parking and nice personel. Its not a fancy Hotel, but is very well located, near the city center and works well for a bussiness trip.

This hotel suited our needs very well. It is located directly at the river which diverts Blumenau's centre. It is on the more quiet side and the rooms out the back have a medium good river view while also looking at the centre and some of its beautiful traditional Bavarian buildings like the huge "prefectura". The room we had was a standard room. It is equipped with a double bed (new!), 2 night tables, a desk, mirror and an Bavarian wardrobe. Further there was a TV, telephone and WiFi (in all rooms, incl in the price) as well as a fridge. The bathroom was newly renovated and equipped with a shower with great pressure and hot water galore, a hand basin and a toilet. Further we had a small and a large towel each, a soap every day and a little glass each. The room is rayed out with carpet. The window is big and can be opened completely. The bathroom has a little window, too. Breakfast buffet is included. The fresh fruit (melon of different types and papaya) was the greatest. They also have 2 different white buns, not toasted toast, 1 type of cheese, ham, 4 preserves, cereals, tea, coffee and scrambled eggs as well as bacon, and 3 - 4 types of sponge cake. Next to the house is an outdoor pool. It is not huge, but big enough for a little waddling around. It is surrounded by grass but unfortunately in front of a half busy main road. Therefore is the noise level a bit high, but the view is hidden by plants. Car parking behind the house is included, which we did not take advantage of as we felt our car to be safe out front, too. The reception area has many pamphlets of surrounding attractions ( glass factory, beer museum, nature walks etc). We ourself came during the time of "Octoberfest", which is a very busy time and you need to book for the weekends very latest 1 month ahead of schedule! The hotel is about 6km away from the festival, but nevertheless popular for its guests anyway (the ride in a taxi is 2 min and costs Reais 14, about US$ 7.) The hotel is in front of the city centre, just on the other side of the river which is easy to cross. I can not say if a room of a higher category has any advantages or just a slightly better view for a higher price. During the first 3 weeks of October, there is a parade about evey 2nd day which finishes at the Germanic Village. That is a rebuilt of a Bavarian village, and encounters 3 big halls, a Beer-Garden, little houses with souvenir shops, and about 10 regional beers. Obviously Blumenau has a huge German heritage and they celebrate it big. Most people wear Dirndls and boys a type of leather pants. The sing German songs and dance German dances etc. Good, if you like a good party! The centre has a shopping street, 2 shopping malls, 2 big supermarkets and is mostly beautiful to look at. In between rolling hills, traditional Bavarian houses and German language as well as Portuguese one feels like in Bavaria or Switzerland.
