So we are visiting our family and stay with them but since it's 37 degrees and we are a couple we decided to runaway, get some privacy and cool ourselves in the pool. The price comparing to prices in Europe or USA are ridiculously cheap and place was more than we expected. Room was fairly big and clean, nice big bathroom, we ordered spaghetti, and maybe I'm not a specialist but it seemed to be freshly prepared. Pool was usually free from crowds, we've been there two nights and we brought late in the evening our friend to have few drinks by the pool with us and there was no fuss about it, no problems from hotel staff. Customer service very good, only one downfall is that only one person seem to speak English, the rest of the crew (even reception team) couldn't speak a word of English so if you can't speak Portugues - Prepare your Google translator. Internet is not great (as in whole Brasil but its comperable decent)

The room was nice size, clean and well equipped. Shower was fantastic!! Wi-Fi was excellent. Not so the restaurant or location: No-one greeted me when I came to the restaurant. I stood around for a while hoping the waiter would notice me and point to a table. He didn't, so after a while I sat down at an emply table. I waited another 15 minutes to be noticed, given a menu, asked if I wanted a drink, etc. Nothing. I waived at the waiter, hoping to get his attention. No go. Eventually I went to the front desk, next door, and asked what it took to be served. The clerk came to the restaurant, took the waiter by the arm and pointed to me. Five minutes later I got a menu. Then I waited another 15 minutes for him to come back and take my order. No go. I again went to the front desk and asked how to order. Same procedure again - the front desk clerk brought me to the waiters attention and he eventually came over, notebook in hand. Turned out he spoke no English, Zero. I've been in that situation before, so it didn't daunt me. What I hadn't experienced before was that not even pointing on the menu worked. The front desk clerk was, yet again, called to help convey the order. then I waited for an hour(!) before I, for the fourth time, enrolled the front desk clerk to ask how long it would take to get my food. Another 20 minutes elapsed before a plate appeared at my table. It wasn't what I had ordered. It took the front desk clerk again to explain what had happened. They were out of the chicken I had ordered, so they had substituted it with fish instead. To inform me of this switch, or as if it was OK had apparently not occurred to them. The fish was cold and absolutely horrible. Needless to say I didn't eat at that restaurant again during my stay. Which is where the location comes in. The hotel is right next to the freeway, a couple of miles east of town, with it's own off-ramp. To get into town is easy - just turn right onto the freeway and go. And there are many good restaurants at the next off-ramp (Including the Park Hotel, where I will stay on my next visit). The problem is that you can only get off to the hotel when you are travelling west, so when you come back from town, going east, you have to go to the next ramp to be able to turn around, and it is four miles, 6km away...
