“Great staff and breakfast”

Didn't expect much from the experience of Fairfield Inn in the US. This FI was far better than the one in US. A lot of staff taking care of guests with friendly, courteous and welcoming vibe. Great comfy room. Great breakfast unlike the ones in US. Great location in old town.

We had an amazing stay back in October. The staff were so professional and kind while they handled multiple people at check in. They were very friendly throughout our stay. The breakfast was great and plenty of options. Our room was just what we needed and overall quiet and a good temp. We appreciated being near the Metro so we could leave our car in the garage. The manager shared where to park our car in a garage nearby and it was so easy. We loved being able to walk to so many neighborhoods or easily take the Metro. We felt very safe in this location. We could easily walk a few streets over for lots of food options and a gem a theater. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to others traveling to Montreal.

“An Excellent Stay.”

This hotel is clean, modern, well-kept, with very good service. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Its location was perfect for our needs, near Berri métro and close to the CHUM hospital complex. Its included breakfast was quite amazing actually! Highly recommended.

Been a Marriott member for 40 years now (40 years! How did that happen!) so I am always treated pretty well, but staff here were a notch above. Arrived early, but a room was available, and was able to get late checkout that fit perfectly with our departure plans. Was given great advice about parking- if you are not planning to use your car in this extremely walkable city with great public transportation, accept their recommendation, with schematic map, to leave your car in the Biblioteque UQAM parking lot (warning-no in/out) for a little more than $US10/$CAN14/day). The one-way streets and busy Rue Berri make it a little challenging, but Montreal drivers are fairly tolerant. It should be noted that the arrangement is a little quirky- on entering, a credit card is needed, and not ticket dispensed (at least I never saw one). On departure, the credit car is again requested, and the system knows how long you have been there and charges accordingly. Did not confirm, but PRESUME the same credit card is need for arrival and departure to facilitate the transaction. Saw no humans, so ther could be difficulties. Rooms were typical FI, with nice beds, showers, a mini fridge and safe. TV was standard for these time (i.e. big). Very close to the elevator, but no noise, and with only 2 nights, we did not have to worry about housekeeping (I feel bad for the HK staff, but less HK means less wasted water, wear and tear on sheets/towels). Breakfast, hot and cold, started at 0630, and was delicious. Seemed to be enough room for everyone in a 10-story hotel, but I may not have been there at peak demand. Location was very convenient (Le Vieux Montréal and St. Lawrence River just a few blocks east on Berri; Mt. Royal and McGill a mile or so away; an abundance of restaurants and bars of all flavors within a mile radius), and never regretted stashing the car.
