“Pleasant experience”

The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself is very quaint. The rooms are a little small and nothing fancy, but the beds were comfortable and clean. The hotel lobby is a great place to enjoy a coffee or a Pilsner beer in comfort. I would look to stay here again when I travel back to Prague!

I’m unsure how the reviews give this hotel five stars. The location is its best asset. 5 out of 5 for access by foot to all the inner city land marks and the river a very close by. The price is what draws people to the hotel. However I notice that at new years it’s jumped to almost $400 Euro. This old establishment is a ok hotel for around $150 Euro or less per night. And that’s because of the location. The rooms are not wide. So some people describe them as large. They may be long but you constantly hit your leg on the end of the wooden beds as you walk past. Mattresses are quite firm so that is subjective as to whether they are comfortable or NOT. Unusual and stupid design of the bathroom having to walk up two stairs in your room to open the door. Very unusual and probably not very safe to be honest. Quite a noisy hotel unfortunately. Seems like a quite street outside but certainly at Christmas New Years you can hear people talking outside. Not the best soundproofing inside either if you want a quiet sleep. You can hear everyone in the hallway talking and walking. The doors are very old school. With a key. Can be a pain to open and slam shut. Stay away from 4th floor quite noisy due to it being the breakfast area. We were on the 5th floor and you can still hear noise. Room is very clean. But very basic. Good air conditioning. Rooms do get quite hot Very small throw away TV screen mounted on a pole. In corner of the room. Internet is ok. Staff were simply ok. Not amazing and helpful but did their job to the minimum expectation. If you only want a room to sleep in and the price is right then consider this for the location. I personally would spend an extra $100 Euro a night and stay at a more modern or refurbished establishment
