“Convenient and affordable”

Comfortable and charming hotel offers great value for money, considering its lack of amenities like a bar. The location is ideal close to he harbour, restaurants and shops. It's a very buzzy area. Our room was a little small, but cosy, with a decent-sized bathroom and a good shower. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, making us feel right at home. If you're looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay for a night, this hotel is a perfect choice.

“Comfortable and modern”
We were here one night and wish we could’ve stayed longer. The hotel is updated and in the perfect location close to restaurants and shops. Staff were all friendly and English is spoken. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Didn’t have the breakfast.

“Nice hotel, fantastic location”
Lovely hotel. Great location, right near the old port. Staff were very helpful. We didn't have our breakfast there (bit pricey), lots of cafés nearby that do breakfast. We had a standard room. “Super Central and Stylish Hotel”

We stayed for three nights at La Maison Du Monde. The hotel is in an excellent location, very, very close to the old port of La Rochelle, many restaurants and bars. It couldn’t have been more central and provided the perfect base for our stay. The hotel was very well styled, with communal areas and breakfast room always looking their best. The staff in reception were friendly and tried to answer any questions we had. However, our room was not quite as we were expecting. We had booked a Deluxe Room with City View and we felt this wasn’t accurately described online (either on the hotel website or booking.com) and the photographs were quite different to what we got. The room had all the amenities we were expecting, however it was much smaller and the city view was only visible if you leant FAR out of the window! Our room was on the fourth and top floor of the hotel meaning it had a sloping ceiling, which made it feel smaller and more awkward. We questioned the size of the room with the reception staff however we were told that ‘comfort’ rooms were actually slightly larger but they didn’t have a view, which we felt was misleading. While the room and bathroom felt generally clean, the wall by a vent was very dusty, and both a large lamp, and bathroom mirror light didn’t work. The room did have air conditioning however this appeared to be limited and could not be lowered below 22 degrees. As it was very hot during our stay, and being on the top floor, the room sometimes felt stuffy and we woke up hot during the night. Breakfast was very good and while there was not a huge selection of cooked items, the quality of the food was excellent. I am gluten free and sent an email to the hotel in advance. Each morning they had fresh gluten free bread they had purchased specially which was really lovely. Despite our disappointment with our room, we would stay again because of the location. We would just be more aware of which rooms to book, or not.
