“A very good Mercure - recommended !”
This is a very good Mercure ! Ideally located for the city the hotel overlooks the Loire and the public areas are very attractive and the staff super-welcoming and helpful, especially Monsieur Le Chef who constantly circulated in his full regalia making sure all guests were enjoying their stay at… more
This is a very good Mercure ! Ideally located for the city the hotel overlooks the Loire and the public areas are very attractive and the staff super-welcoming and helpful, especially Monsieur Le Chef who constantly circulated in his full regalia making sure all guests were enjoying their stay at the hotel - the food in the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced, the service excellent and professional. Our bedroom was of typical Mercure standard but more than adequate for a peaceful and comfortable night's sleep - we had a small balcony overlooking the Loire and the busy road bridge taking traffic south over the river.

The property is located just at the entrance to the inner city. For healthy people, it's a nice 20-25 minutes' walk along the river to get to downtown. Otherwise one must take the car out from the ample, relatively cheap, hotel parking provided, as the nearest tram stop is not that near, either. Rooms and bathrooms are adequate, breakfast is good, and the excellent restaurant deserves a separate review. The view of the Loire River and beyond from our high-floor room alone was worth the stay. The hotel is very popular, particularly as a stop for tourists on their way to Northern Europe. Thus, during the season it's best to reserve early.

“OK, But Needs a Refresh”
This a fairly basic mid range hotel. All necessary amenities are there but need a refresh. The carpet is shabby, the shower grout and bathroom walls could use a refresh and everything would be better with a coat of paint. Convenient location and parking, OK service. Nothing memorable.
