Lovely hotel, friendly staff, brilliant location and a very good breakfast. I stayed here for work last week. The room was very clean - small but not too small - and I found it lovely and quiet, slept really well. The staff were friendly and helpful. My favourite part has to be the breakfast. It was simple but really good and plenty of it. From fruit and yogurt, to boil your own eggs and of course lots of bread and pastries. Location wise it couldn’t be better. 3 minutes from the nearest metro and only 10 from the Eiffel tower and one of the main metro stations. I’d definitely come back!

“The perfect small hotel in Paris”
We have been staying here for 20 years. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly. Location in Passy is perfect with few tourists (other than us!) yet you are only 15 minutes walking distance from the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe.

After reading reviews of dozens of Parisian hotels, my wife and i checked into the Hotel Passy Eiffel on Oct 13th for a 7 night stay. As this was gonna be my wife's bucket-list trip I'd promised her 30 years ago... I let her choose the hotel and I planned everything else for the week.. Without telling my wife, I upgraded in advance to the "deluxe" and supposedly larger room for about $300 more.. I'll add that I've traveled the world over 50+ years from Cairo to Bora Bora and as it turns out that while this was the second most expensive room I've ever stayed in... it was hands down the smallest room I've ever stayed in. That includes huts on the Amazon. While the room was clean, modern, tasteful, with many amenities... there wasn't room to open both our suitcases at the same time unless they were on the bed.. If this was the "upgraded" room.. I can't imagine what a standard room looks like. Before I go any further I have to mention, before arriving I asked the hotel if they could pick us up at the airport (Charles DeGaulle) and they said.. "sure... at a cost of $95E"... That kinda miffed me as virtually every other hotel I've ever stayed at on planet earth picked you up for FREE... After paying over $2000 for the week, I'd expected a warmer (and cheaper) welcome. We decided to just grab a cab at the airport (which is very easy) for the 40 minute drive and that cost only 65E. It was another 65E to return the following Sunday. We were in room 31 on the 3rd floor (accessed by an elevator or stairs) and had 2 large windows that opened to the street. It's a nice street and there was usually a nice breeze. Looking left we had a good view of the top 1/2 of the Eiffel Tower and to the right a view of the street and many shops. The location in Paris is close to the Eiffel Tower. I'd guess 1 mile. Maybe less. While I have bad knees and couldn't walk it, my wife could in 15 minutes. A cab ride to the foot of the Tower was around 10E. Unlike many tourists, we planned to use cabs for all our excursions.. No bus, train, or subway.. When we got ready to go somewhere... dinner, sightseeing, etc we asked the front desk and within 5-8 minutes a cab was waiting out front. Expensive yes, but no thinking or stress or drama involved. The hotel didn't charge us anything for calling the cabs. There are 3 excellent restaurants within 3 minute walk.. All in the same direction.. All within 50 yards of each other. VERY convenient. Expect to pay 35E minimum for 2 people for anything up to 85E.. There are no cheap restaurants in Paris other than the few fast food places, but at least in our case, the food was excellent in every one. Also.. there's a pastry shop out the door and 30 ft down on the left. We grabbed snacks there instead of breakfasts. Two chocolate filled croissants was under 6E. In fact we never ate anything at the hotel so I can't comment on that. They do have a mini bar with cokes, water, beer (I think.) and some other stuff in the lobby on a "honor" system. My wife, who hates to shop for clothing, said to mention she's never seen better clothes shops in her life. All within walking distance. I've never seen her spend as much on clothes... Many, like myself may have heard that it's French law that hotels and resorts can NOT run air conditioners after fall arrives. Not sure of the dates, but I was worried about the temps during early October.. I don't sleep well unless I'm cool. As it turns out, in spite of the fact that the beds, pillows, and linen were first rate and very comfortable, I didn't sleep well the first 5 nights. It was just warm enough that an A/C was needed. What made things worse.. every bed in the hotel has a 3" comforter on it. Great for cool weather.. Not so great when it's warm. I asked the desk for a blanket we could use instead of the thick comforter and the owner admitted... "we have no blankets." A hotel with no blankets!? Inconceivable. I tried sleeping with the windows open, but no matter what time of night... the noise level is high.. Ear plugs worked for a while before they become uncomfortable. Besides endless cars and motorcycles, there are all sorts of noise emanating from the street below... I think I heard Optimus Prime and Megatron battling one night... Elon Musk testing a new rocket engine another.. Crazed, angry lovers screaming in the streets one night. And the dependable trash collectors showing up at precisely 5am every morning with their machines... After 4 nights of almost no sleep, I mentioned my dilemma to the desk and was informed they have portable stand-up A/Cs and I tried one for the next few nights. As it turns out... they were no better than a fan, but it did help mask the noise outside a little. It did NOT make the room cooler. The last few nights the temps dropped so we could close the windows and still be comfy. The Passe staff did try to accommodate and they admitted.. it's only the Americans who ask for portable A/C. Lastly.. my wife LOVED the staff and the hotel and would go back in a heartbeat.. I'd go back too, but during a month when the government allows the use of an A/C... The staff is first rate. The hotel is a cut above and other than the issues with the bed comforter and lack of A/C... I had few complaints. If you don't mind a tiny room, you could do much worse... It's a very nice hotel. FYI... If you booked and paid in advance you should still expect to pay a city tax upon check-out which is about 5.50E PP per night. We paid under 65E for the two of us.. Not bad, IMHO
