“Great value for money and great location”

We stayed here as a base for a weekend away in Berlin. The location is great - close to Brandenburg Gate and local transport. As others have mentioned, you may be assigned an apartment a few blocks away but this wasn't too much of an issue. The apartment itself is very big, which came in handy if you wanted to spend some time to relax. Good wifi and access to Netflix/Prime etc. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and a bonus having washing machine, ironing board and clothes dryer available. The one thing that happened that meant I didn't give this review 5* is that we arrived outside of the office hours. The code we were given to access the key box did not have a key available in the compartment. Thankfully, there was someone locking up (didn't get his name) who helped us and gave us the right code - they were super helpful and we were very grateful he was there to help us but it was slightly unnerving that it could have caused quite an issue by not being able to have any keys to the apartment when arriving into Berlin in the evening. That said, it was rectified due to luck of someone being there and the apartment itself was very good value for money. Would stay again.

The location is perfect. A few minutes walk from the Brandenburg Gate and a slightly longer walk to checkpoint Charlie the apartments are situated right where a visitor would want to be. These were built as East German apartments and though large for a holiday, it is interesting that they would have been the entire house for some East German family. One interesting thing was how thin the internal concrete walls are. There is a small kitchen with a dishwasher and oven plus kettle and coffee machine. The kitchen was new and all appliances were smeg. Main thing missing was a microwave. The tiny bathroom was challenging. There is a basic washing machine but no dryer. Detracting was was a strange smell that hit as we enteredthe apartment. We got use to it but it was strong. Additionally one of the single beds was broken casing it to collapse in the middle of the night. Hopefully will be fixed for the next guest. Otherwise great accomodation for a small family at a reasonable price.

Stayed for three nights in a two bedroom apartment. This is a large complex of apartments that is both residential and hotel that stretches over several blocks. In fact the site is the former chancellory that contained the Furers bunker where he died….there are a lot of tourist groups walking around the area and there is a sign on the street behind the apartment complex. The hotel has apartments spread throughout the complex so be prepared to have to walk to your building and room. This is not a problem unless you have too much luggage or people with mobility issues. There are lifts to the rooms though I think if you are on floor 7 you have to take the stairs to this floor from floor 6. We had an issue with a leaking toilet however the staff were very helpful and were able to change our room for us and in the same building, just on a different floor. We were very appreciative for this. The apartment is very large. Extra hallway spaces means you can spread your luggage out though the rooms are quite large also. Plenty of heating which is great of winter, and the windows can be opened for fresh air. There are not ceiling fans or aircon. The apartment comes with a washing machine, a clothes drying rack and a full kitchen - oven, stove top but no microwave. There is a supermarket close by (not open on a Sunday) as is the Mall of Berlin shopping centre (also not open on a Sunday). The U and S Bahns are a block away from reception and easy to access the main Berlin Train station. We used the limited stop ticket for Euro 2.40 per adult. Location is very convenient to Brandenburg gate, checkpoint Charlie, remnants of the wall. Would stay here again.
