Guests breaking the law will be immediately banished from the property and may be fined, states the law and the corresponding municipal regulations. The hotel/apartment manager or property agent must order said guests to leave immediately, which may require assistance from the security forces.

Due to worrying and unpredictable demos in Cologne for which 5000 Policemen had been drafted in, to ensure being able to get to a venue on the other side of the Rhine we had to change hotels at the last minute. This an old-fashioned hotel on the edge of some glorious woods, close to the Motorway and with a Strassenbahn 2 minutes away with which you can enjoy all the scenery on a straight run into the centre of town within 20 minutes and leave the car in the hotel's free underground carpark. At £60 for the night we had a large room with armchairs and coffee table. The bathroom was perfectly adequate and the shower, well, even my husband who is very fussy on temperature and pressure enthused how good it was! My only gripe was that we had a waterbed… I was willing to give it a try but when we return I will request a room with a ‘normal’ bed. Waterbeds and me do not get on. As said, it was a last minute booking and I had not checked if breakfast was available or at an added cost. Breakfast was not mentioned when we checked in and, after all, we had only paid £60 for the night. I think 'gobsmacked' just about covered it when we saw what must be the ultimate in breakfasts all set up in a room with a Baby Grand at one end. Unlike the hotel in Holland which (unusually and unfortunately) offered only Espresso or Earl Grey at breakfast, this hotel where we spent our last night offered all the usual choices in coffee and tea and also hot chocolate as well as the usual continental sliced meats, liver sausage and cheeses, 4 different types of cereal with chilled fresh milk, scrambled eggs, sausages, boiled eggs, DIY fried eggs (single hobs and small frying pans available) fruit, yoghurt, fruit juice, oranges with a press, you can’t get fresher orange juice than that, a choice of different rolls and 2 different loaves with an electric slicer to cut your own and a toaster if desired, chocolate spread, honey and 4 different conserves fresh pats of butter and margarine. There are many, more expensive, hotels which could take a leaf out of their book. Absolutely sumptuous, everything you could want for a long lingering breakfast….if you have the time and in an atmosphere that makes you wish you could linger. As for comments others have made in their reviews: ‘decor is cheap’ – old-fashioned but clean and a spruce up wouldn’t hurt, but perfectly acceptable and it doesn’t claim to be a state of the art hotel ‘whole place smells of cigarettes’ – not when we were there last week ‘bathroom with smelly towels and dirty shower curtain’ - not when we were there last week ‘Saturday night disco’ – being a light sleeper I was also concerned when we returned to the hotel that evening but once upstairs in our room, at the back of the building, could not hear anything, not even a hint of an annoying base

The fist member of staff I felt did not want to be their the second members of staff were very helpful and pleasant. the hotel does not have disable parking and is not disable friendly as it has no lifts, the breakfast was ok. would we stay again yes..

Having read some reviews before booking, I wasnt put off, and I seem to have had less issues with this hotel than others. As other have highlighted, the rooms are basic. My room was clean and I had no problems. The Wifi is good, plenty of storage space and hot water when I needed it, although the shower itself was a little low on pressure. Getting into Koln is easy, the train station is 90 seconds from the hotel, the ticket is 3 Euros and getting to the centre of Koln takes about 20 minutes. What wasn't helpful was that the hotel doesn't have thinks like irons/ironing board for use by the guests. Its a shame because its easily fixed and would make a big difference. Other than that, the staff were friendly and helpful, speak reasonable English if you don't speak German, and always available.
