Hotel staff really cares for guests, they even accepted our special breakfast requests for Indian food for some of our colleagues. I would highly recommend this hotel whenever you are visiting Paderborn.

I love this hotel, stayed here twice this year while visiting family and friends. The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us on both occasions. All the staff member spoke perfect English - put my German to shame. The rooms are comfortable and clean, really nice size especially as on both occasions two girls have shared - No fighting over the mirror or plug sockets for hairdryer. Location is excellect close to the centre of Paderborn and within reach of very nice restaurants and bars. We will be visiting again next year.

Arriving at the railway station of Paderborn we took a bus to Maspernplatz and walked with our luggage from there. We found all the sites of Paderborn to be within easy walking distance from the hotel. Hotel Stadthaus is divided over two buildings, called ‘Stadthaus’ and ‘Torhaus’. We stayed in the main building, the white Stadthaus at the corner of Hathumanstrasse and Unkern. The area was quiet, we heard no traffic noise at night. The only thing we ever heard was an upstairs hotel guest walking to and fro in his room. The hotel reception closes at midnight, there is no night porter. Our standard double room on the second floor was big enough. The white-tiled bathroom had two sinks and a bath tub (with bathrobes and a tiny bath duck) and was clean and roomy. The bed was large and comfy and there were good reading lights at both sides, which often isn’t the case in hotels. By comparison, the desk and the wardrobe were unpractically small. Part of the scarce space was already taken up by linen and a pillow and we had to leave things in our bags, which was annoying. All the more so because, apart from a luggage stand, there was no place to store away our large bags either. There also wasn’t a single drawer in the room so we had to keep all kinds of small stuff lying around or stored in our bags. On the plus side, we had good Wi-Fi coverage. We didn’t try the sauna, which is free for hotel guests from Monday to Thursday but costs 10 euros per person the rest of the time and during holidays. We also only had breakfast at the hotel once – it is nothing special - preferring to try out different cafes with outside seating in town.
