“Clean, comfortable and calm. Ideal.”

This was such a pleasant surprise. Clean and comfortable, with attentive staff who go the extra mile to make things right. Angelo, met us and ensured we had the right rooms. The accessible room I had booked was not ready but the shower in the room next to my young son's room was accessible enough so I coped. The Hotel conforms to its ethical model whilst not compromising on customer care. For me an hotel needs to deliver 3 things: Cleanliness, Comfort and Calm. Conscious Vondelpark did exactly that. Everywhere was spotless and tidy, the beds tidy, white fresh linens, with feather duvets and nice pillows. There was no noise. In the rooms the furniture is function over form, chairs, and a table. There was a telly box on the wall but I have no idea if it worked as I never watch them. Plenty of wardrobe space and a wee safe. The shower room was well stocked with aromatic unguents and bathing products. A nice touch. The shower was lower power and plenty hot enough, it did the job. Curiously a hoolah-hoop (sp?) was hung on the wall of my room available to use during my stay. Along with a yoga mat, and space enough to roll it out. Alas, I utilised neither. Throughout the building there are quirky little signs and notes on doors, or commentary pieces about the environment, plants, animals and insects surrounding the hotel. They range from informative to positively doo-lally. Amusing in an end of the pier pointlessness type of a way. Throughout the day and night, there is access to food and drinks at reception, with lovely water from a fruit and herb filled container - excellent for water bottles, Nearby park is glorious, 17 tram to Centraal station is a hundred metres or so. The hotel itself is excellent, bed comfy, facilities just right, great location for ease of public transport. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is excellent, bed comfy, facilities just right, great location for ease of public transport. Staff very friendly and helpful. The coffee from the cafe area is superb, but my only gripe is staff hygiene. We returned one evening and I thought I'd take a coffee to our room. The member of staff on duty was outside having a smoke break.. He came back in quickly and served me, but didn't wash his hands. This may seem petty to some, but hand hygiene is paramount these days - especially in the hospitality area, and the hospital area I work in, and that was a big no from me I'm afraid. It hasn't put me off the hotel, but it has put me off the cafe.

“excellent value”
Very friendly and helpful. Easy booking. Excellent value for money, and we were even able to park our car with roof box! Slightly confusing as there are 2 Conscious hotels almost adjacent to each other, but they seem to work in co-operation.

“Comfortable room!”
Good location. Very nice breakfast! Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Small rooms but that is all one needs! Close to trams for an easy ride to the centre of the city. A person can also take a tram/train from the airport to this hotel.
