“More than we expected!”
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Luxer during a quick trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is centrally located in Amsterdam and close to the trains and Centraal station. My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Luxer during a quick trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is centrally located in Amsterdam and close to the trains and Centraal station. Despite it being in the middle of everything and surrounded by many restaurants and bars, the hotel was quiet and we felt safe. They have a great bar for nightcaps, although we didn't get to enjoy it due to dry January but next time we will. It also has a great coffee bar station where you can grab a nice cappuccino or Americano on your way to the tours or airport. We highly recommend it.

Hotel Luxer is conveniently located near Central station. All the staff were very warm and accommodating; they were able to check us in very early so that we could get a much-needed nap after our red-eye flight. All the staff were very warm and accommodating; they were able to check us in very early so that we could get a much-needed nap after our red-eye flight. The rooms themselves are basic and a little dated, but everything was clean and functional. I would stay here again.

This is a centrally located hotel. Most of the cities attractions are no more than a mile or two away. The Damrak where dining options are plentiful is just one block over. This is a centrally located hotel. Most of the cities attractions are no more than a mile or two away. The Damrak where dining options are plentiful is just one block over. As for the hotel may be a little dated but that’s to be expected for a city hotel. The staff onsite were exceptionally helpful and friendly. And there’s coffee and snacks available all day long. Highly recommend.

“No frills hotel - but comfortable.”
Hotel is close to central train station; nightlife; shops etc. Easy to walk around Amsterdam from hotel. Hotel is close to central train station; nightlife; shops etc. Easy to walk around Amsterdam from hotel. Hotel rooms are a bit tired; carpet could be changed; but rooms were clean, tidy; beds very comfortable; bathroom standard. TV has no English speaking channels, but we spent most of the time outside, so didn’t bother us. Hotel staff were very friendly and answered any questions we had. Would stay there again.

This review is like a warning to everyone considering booking a stay at the Hotel Luxer. . I travel A LOT and being very honest, the rating of this place do not corresponds to the reality. Well, when I was reading the reviews before booking my stay and I felt I made a good decision, but I felt like I was fooled agter my stay. Going straight to the point, The location of the hotel is very good and I have no complaints about the staff. The room, however was very poor: very old, tainted and smelling carpet , window would not fully close and bathroom very small, specially the shower. In addition, in one of the nights, we had the fire alarm ringing for 15-20 seconds, what was utterly horrible. I would definitely book another hotel when in Amsterdam.
