My room was so cute. Leafy outlook on to the street. The time I spent in my room was minimal. The bed was super comfy, the pillows were too. The towels were also good quality. The bathroom amenities were really lovely. Overall the hotel was great. The front desk staff were helpful and super friendly. I missed not having tea/coffee making in the room and whilst there was no air conditioner, there was a fan which moved the air around and I didn’t feel uncomfortable, even though it was summer. I would recommend Hotel V.

The pros The location is great, close to the museums and couldn't be closer to various tram stops. You are in the action of the canals and little shops in less than 10 minutes and just a few minutes from the area called De Pijp which has lovely cafes, restaurants and a well-known market. The reception staff were friendly and were happy to keep our bags for us after we'd checked out and were also happy to help with an issue post departure. The cons We booked two rooms that seemed to fit our requirements online. The first twin room was very small (which you might expect) but so very dark, not helped by the dark furnishings. It was also not that clean, we found a sock that was not ours. The shower room was tiny, much too small to get changed in. The other room was a loft, we had to leave the hotel and go round the corner to a separate entrance. It was then sixty five very steep and increasingly narrow steps up to the loft room at the top. It was difficult for us fit and healthy people to lift our cabin sized cases up to. The room itself was spacious but the bathroom dark again and the wall so paper thin we could literally hear every word of the people in the next room. The breakfast service was chaotic and sparse. On our second and final day there was a very young employee on their own trying to cope with various tables all with different demands of him because you had to request most things (coffee, juice, milk alternatives, toast etc). He was harassed and dishevelled! There wasn't much choice in their continental offering.
