Went for dinner with my family for a birthday recently and had a wonderful experience there. Michelle was my server for the afternoon and she really made our night from start to finish. All the staff were amazing and were very attentive. Will definitely be returning!!

We attended a wedding reception at the Oaks. It was my first time at this hotel. We arrived a little stressed from Killarney traffic and parking! First impressions were that it is lovely and there is so much parking near the hotel itself - ideal for heels! Checkin was a breeze. I expected queues etc with most guests staying over - really well organised. There seems to be only one lift, but it was very efficient, I don't think we ever waited for it - I didn't ever find the stairs! Drinks reception was lovely, we went into the bar for a while, also lovely. The function room was lovely and the meal was fabulous. I loved the bed, just so comfy and I was just the right amount warm. We had turned off the heating when we dropped our bags earlier - otherwise the room would have been suffocatingly warm. My only gripe about the room is the taps in the bathroom. For me they turned the wrong way, although my OH thought I was mad! But I instinctively tried to turn them the other way every time - that is fine to turn on as you just turn the other way - but I ended up soaking myself and the floor numerous times when I turned them fully on when trying to turn off. I also didn't like that not a mixer tap, as the hot water was gloriously hot, but just a little too hot for a bathroom sink. Breakfast was lovely. I ate from their continential breakfast range and it was just what I wanted. OH had a cooked breakfast as did lots of other guests and everyone loved it. Once I discovered the coffee pot, endless coffee. I did hear some complaints about the toaster - one of those you feed in the bread - that it needed a few rounds to get the bread toasted. Checkout was another breeze. Overall, lovely hotel, really efficient and friendly staff.

“Nice but could be much better.”

Good and not so good. The location is nice outside of town. Plenty of free parking. Check in smooth with a friendly desk clerk. We were tired and had a bite to eat in the restaurant. Very nice. Good and not so good. The location is nice outside of town. Plenty of free parking. Check in smooth with a friendly desk clerk. We were tired and had a bite to eat in the restaurant. Very nice. The food was good. Room was nice. Big tub and shower. We both took long baths after hiking 7 miles during the day. Wifi was fast and stayed constantly connected. They gave us a fan to move the air around. That was nice. The fan had a timer on it and would only stay on 2 hours at a time. Weird. The room had a single bed and a full bed. When we got in to bed we sunk into the middle. It was like sleeping in a hammock. My wife ditched me and went to the single bed. You could hear any noise from the other rooms and from the hallway. Bottom line not a good night's sleep. The breakfast in the morning was good. Killarney was booked the weekend we were there and we were only able to get 1 night at the Killarney oaks hotel. Turned out to be a blessing.
