Charming hotel, arrived and was greeted by the friendly receptionist and James the Concierge who kindly held our bags as our room was not ready. We were given room 259 and as soon as we walked in we were struck by a drainy smell. On further inspection this smell was coming from the bath plug hole. We immediately called down to reception and we were shown another room 264 which was lovely and smelt fresh and so we changed rooms. Once we had moved we were happier and more relaxed. Breakfast was outstanding and our server Stacey stood out as she was exceptionally warm, friendly and extremely helpful and attentive. We also had dinner twice in the hotel and both times we were very impressed with the food and service. We also had a tea and scone in the tea/ coffee bar situated at the front of the hotel. This was a lovely atmosphere with a buzzy feeling. Overall a fantastic stay and a marvellous location in the City. It would be a nice touch to have a doorman at the front.

We had a lovely one-night stay at The Imperial Hotel. This is a hotel in the classic style: ornate pillars, painted ceilings, nice artwork, and historic artifacts. Impressive. Check in and out was easy and quick--everything was in order. The staff were so friendly. The doormen (if that's the proper title) were helpful and went out of their way to be sure we were all welcomed. We had a good few chats with them. Our room was so lovely: large with a big comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. And it was spotless. We ate at the restaurant and had a delicious plated Irish breakfast--other alternatives were available. Food was great and the server was so nice. Location is great--right in the center of Cork with all amenities nearby. Wifi is throughout and the bandwidth allowed for movie watching. There is parking but it is about 250 meters away. All-in-all a very lovely stay

I had the opportunity to be booked in while on Business last week, there was a minor delay with my booking coming through to reception and I was given access to a side room off reception where I would relax and have a coffee while I waited. Reception Staff and Porters ware very friendly and helpful and I had my evening meal in the Restaurant which was a very good experience as I had noticed some poor reviews but wanted to try and it was excellent. I also had Breakfast the following morning and was very happy with it which set me up for my day, the next time I am working in Cork I will ask to be booked back in as it was a very enjoyable stay.

The location of the hotel is 5star, the decor of the lobby bar and restaurant 5star, the room 5star & if that’s what u are going for then that’s ok. The hotel itself is old, very higgledy-piggledy, some would say it’s old and has lots of character. There are 3lifts, lift 3 is not working at the moment and we didn’t use lift 1. The room was very nice, but the floor was very uneven, the floor of the bathroom was heated which was a huge plus. There was a coffee machine in the room and the beds were very comfortable. The heating/AC was in good working order and we were very happy with that. There was a very loud noise outside our window, which started around 6pm and had stopped by 5am, it was very loud and if u were a light sleeper I could imagine you would find it very had to sleep. Staff were very nice in the bar & very helpfully with getting us extra chairs. The breakfast costs €21.50 per person & if it was worth it that would b fine. We sat at our table for 45min with nothing, no toast, no teas, no coffee, no pastries (there was no pastries at the buffet either). We asked for water and they brought that. We got juice and picked from what fruit was left (which wasn’t much). There was no bowls for the fruit salad, there was very little cereal left. On the menu it was written anything on the menu can be made gluten-free but not the pancakes, so I asked for French toast which also I was told couldn’t be made gluten free. The smashed avocado was very spicy and not what we were expecting. I can’t tell you if they had anything at all gluten free because I wasn’t given the options. I asked for gluten free toast and our server seemed very put out that I had asked for it, but I did get one slice thrown on top of my eggs extra. Our coffee was cold by the time we had eaten and as I like to have a slice of toast with butter and jam with my coffee (because there wasn’t anything else gluten free) I had to drink my cold coffee with that all in all not a pleasant experience. U might ask had we booked our table for breakfast, we had and they should have been expecting us but they seemed not to be. We also weren’t the last to arrive at breakfast either. I saw a man giving out to a waiter. All the tables around us were being left u cleared & our table wasn’t being cleared and we had to resort to putting our extra cups and plates from the buffet onto the other tables. If you do choose this hotel, I hope you have a better experience than we did.
