We moved to this hotel from another that had been disappointing, and were very pleased that we did. It is a very clean and comfortable hotel, and even has its own swimming pool - which seems to be something of a rarety in this part of Italy - and great food. This is a family run business, and all the better for it, their friendliness being second to none. Being a small hotel, breakfast is self-serve 'continental' in style, with a good choice of high quality foods. Dinner menu changes daily, and the quality of food belies the modest surroundings. It was easy to eat too much! The restaurant seemed popular with locals, which is a good recommendation. The pool is a decent size, with adjoining paddling areas for smaller children, and there seemed to be enough sunbeds, with a few sunshades available. The one slight negative factor was a number of biting insects around the pool area, but not surprising given the countryside location, and they didn't spoil our enjoyment. The location was very convenient, being on the very edge of a small town with several other restaurants being within walking distance (though we were not moved to try them, being very satisfied with the hotel's food), Assisi on the nearby hill was alluringly visible from the hotel's pool, and only a few minutes away by bus or car - compelling place to visit. Numerous other villages and towns are within easy travelling distance. Nearby Perugia has an airport, though we travelled from Rome (a two hour drive)

What made this special were the staff who were helpful and friendly and were more than happy to help you. The rooms were a good size and the breakfast was typical Italian style and it even had A/C!

The hotel is situated a little out of town but is extremely clean and cozy. The bespectacled receptionist on duty (I do not know her name though) at the lobby was also extremely helpful. She tried her very best to help us with the transport arrangements to Siena even though she had some difficulty communicating with us in English. For this, we are truly grateful! The quad room we had was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was good, sufficient choice, buffet form. Diner in the evening was excellent. During breakfast you can choose from 5 different primi piattis (starters) and 6 secundi piattis (main courses). All cooked in the Umbrian way. Very good / delicious. After these courses a choice of dolces (cakes). Staff was very friendly, and spoke sufficient English to help in case of questions.

I spent 5 days with my family of four. We have a quadruple room that was very comfortable. The hotel has a small swimming pool that was enough for the kids. You can use bikes free of charge to reach the center of Bastia Umbra. The breakfast was good with fresh cakes and pastries. We also have dinner there and they serve regional dishes. The location is quiet and Perugia and Assisi are very closed and can be reached by car in a few minutes. This hotel managed by a family and they were very kind. Good solution for visiting Umbria.
