“Great stay at Maison Borella”
We had a great stay at Maison Borella - the rooms were cozy, the breakfast good and the location perfect. It is located right next to the canal in the lovely Navigli district. It was also super clean and the people friendly. Will definitely come back here next time.

“Sweet spot”
Very friendly and responsive staff, highly convenient rooms and very nicely designed and equipped. Great location and f&b is excellent! All arrangements required were fully supported, meeting room was well equipped. Can only recommend without any hesitation. We always felt very welcome.

Generally enjoyed this hotel a lot. Room 505 is at the back of the “annex “ just a few steps past the hotel reception behind a very slow electric gate and off a charming courtyard. Being well back from the canal cuts that nightly noise but still there is noise from the restaurant/bar below. There is some good double glazing but I used ear plugs! There is an exterior elevator to 3rd floor but it was not working and no signs of being repaired . Well furnished , excellent bed and Air Con. Good daily bed and towel changes and housekeeping. The TV is very small with hundreds of Italian channels but not a word of English. Well stocked mini bar and daily bottles of water. The hotel restaurant is so good we mostly had all our dinners in its various areas. However breakfast is repetitious with perhaps more cake than savory and is self serve. This interesting canal area is some way from being central and does suffer from small biting? mosquitoes but not in the room. Short walk to catch a tram. Due to the heat and humidity we would never visit in July/August again. All staff very helpful.

Nice hotel, at first glimpse it's a nice location at the canal in Naviglio, but the rooms to the canal may be much to noisy in the evening and untill midnight and perhaps an hour more. Saturday morning at 5 we was awakened by the carbage truck that collected glassbottles from the many restaurants, hotels and bars along the canal, at terrible noise that continued for an hour. Guests with rooms to the courtyard behind had no noise at all, so, do not pay for a room to the canal. We had a room in the annex, it was well equipped with a well functioning aircon. Breakfast was not big but nice exept for the bread that was somewhat limited. Staff was very helpfull and nice. It is not realistic to park anywhere near, or not possible to drive to the front entrance along the canal, so you have to carry your luggage about 100 meters to the hotel. They recommend at parking garage 8-10 minutes away, it cost 30 Euros per 24 hours, and is ok and secure. We would return if being in Milan.

Very attractive hotel, inside and out. On the grand canal of the Navigli district - which is a great place to stay in....in winter anyway. The hotel was nicely decorated throughout and the staff were most helpful. Our room, on the first floor, away from the canal was pleasant enough. The bed was comfortable and the room was generally ok....but. There was little in the way of storage/drawers for clothes etc and the wardrobe, such as it was, was a challenge. The room was overheated to start with but the temp could be lowered. Tea making facility in the room would have been nice. The biggest drawback for us was the noise in or around the hotel. We struggled to get a decent sleep on any of the 3 nights we stayed - and that was at back of the hotel not on the canal! The worst noise seems to come from within the hotel and from the lounge area and possibly from people going out of the lounge to smoke. It seems to be the way 'courtyard' hotels are with people not realising sound seems to be amplified within them. The noise from that lounge area on the Saturday night was very bad, making sleep nigh on impossible. Breakfast was good and tried to cater for most. Maybe more coffee choices and hotter water for tea or coffee would be nice. As mentioned in another review, sweet items easily outnumbered the savoury but the overall choice was good. For us, the noise was a great pity as it is a good looking hotel in a very interesting area of Milan.
