Having just returned from this picturesque hotel the review has to be done. Wonderful, picture perfect sums it's up. All the staff were absolutely spot on and on point at all times. The food was first class as well. Local and authentic We were in a scudera room, which was typically decorated, which may seem 'dated' to some people. It's stylish without being pretentious which is nice as it is expensive to stay. We had a couple of Tuscan Experiences arranged by the hotel, which were again absolutely brilliant and well done. All In all, loved it and if you want to treat yourself, definitely go. It's great.

“Owner guests !”
Welcomed to share La Suvera's installation, routine and heritage by the owner in its comfortable Toscan landscape. The relais in nothing short of a time capsule to be visited with very hospitable personnel.

This hotel was the best part of my trip to Italy. It was very unique experience, like no other hotel I have stayed in. The rooms are very comfortable and beautiful. The service was excellent. Any time we asked for anything, our request was met promptly. The grounds are very lush and castle-like. The breakfast was perfect, had much to choose from. Only had dinner once and it was very good but could use a little more variety. Menu is very small. The restaurant where breakfast is served was not open for dinner the 1 night we were looking to eat in. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is within an hour of any of the wine tours we went on. Need a car though.

The age, history and beauty of the Relais property is hard to deny. There was a wedding during our stay which was truly very picturesque. That said, the dining experience and rooms do not match what you might expect from a 5-star hotel compared to name brand 5-star experiences. Specifically in the room, the bed's mattress was on the high end of firm and the room frequently needed airing out to mitigate the smell of old furniture/must (the provided scents in the room only muddled the smells). One day of our stay the WI-FI was out and given the lack of cell service we lost the opportunity to do deeper research on our following day's itinerary. For dining, they offer room service however there isn't anywhere to eat given the lack of table space. The food itself was ok and we often opted to leave the property for local options. The staff was friendly and clearly working hard during our stay. All said, if this was promoted as a 4-star resort it would be a more fair categorization and match the experience itself instead of setting a bar that can't currently be achieved.
