This is probably one of the best positioned Hotel for your trip to the Holy City it’s on the doorstep literally. The Hotel is spotlessly clean thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff. We booked the cheapest room and we certainly got what we paid for. The room is not a double it’s a large single with a small double bed. The bed is positioned tight to the wall so the person on the inside is a kinda hemmed in. There is no bedside table to place your phone or bits on even to put a bottle of water on. There is no iron provided in the room and also no kettle or coffee machine so extremely basic and a bit claustrophobic avoid if possible.the bathroom was lovely with plenty of hot water The breakfast is included in the price and is excellent as is the woman who serves the drinks lovely lady. The staff on the restaurant and bar are also very nice and professional. The reception needs attending to. The welcome is very poor and the lack of any greeting if you get one when you pass by is cold. On leaving we handed our keys to the lady and a thank you or safe journey wasn’t offered. There was no offer to call us a taxi no pleasantries . As I said we got what we paid for but I thought people might like to know more about these small rooms.,definitely not 4/5star

“Great stay at Residenza!”

We recently stayed at the Residenza Paolo VI. The rooms are quite small but clean and ideal for what we wanted. The rooftop terrace is lovely with a fantastic view at St Peters Basilica. We recently stayed at the Residenza Paolo VI. The rooms are quite small but clean and ideal for what we wanted. The rooftop terrace is lovely with a fantastic view at St Peters Basilica. We ate here twice and the food was good. Francesca (I think that is her name) was absolutely wonderful. Very professional and helpful. She also prepared a takeaway breakfast bag for us when we explained we had an early check out. The lady at breakfast, Giulia was also lovely. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet, not lots of choice but enough to set yourself up for the day. The hotel is great location for the Vatican. All in all we had an amazing stay and the staff here made the difference. We will return.
