1st Floor markets to the LGBT community and is a (for our room) unique and beautiful hotel that is close to the colosseum, at the heart of several bars, a few minutes walk from the metro. It was affordable and staff were very accommodating! They have mini splits for climate control that did quite well - room was a comfortable temperature (which was nice after coming back from tours in a city that can be quite humid and muggy). The only drawback is the volume - you can certainly hear the street traffic (and horns - Italians LOVE their horns). They do provide ear plugs if needed. We want to come back to Rome someday and this will definitely be where we look!

his little boutique is a rare gem. Anyone who is LGBTQ or has friends and family of loving LGBTQ would love to stay here and experience the fantastic location, the fantastic staff and the fantastic bar and restaurant downstairs. After a month's stay in Italy, this was our last destination and it was more than we expected. A really big shout out to the staff - Alex, SANTINA, ROSEANGELA, Paco, LEONARDO, Gaetano and Michael. The staff was friendly and provided great service. We ate and drank there 3 times in our 3 night stay. BRAVO!

You can't get better location, a few meters from the Colosseum, you walk out the building to see Ludas magnus (gladiator training area) & a few minutes to Colosseo train station. Many local restaurants on the street serving good food & a small supermarket the next street over. The staff were amazing, we really want to thank them, honestly the service was fantastic, they were ;so helpful, polite, friendly, informative, we had a portable hotspot delivered to them & they replied in timely manner to update us & kept it safe until our arrival. The room was comfortable & clean. I can't express enough how Highly I recommended this place.

“Friendly LGBTQI hotel”
Had three wonderful nights at this small, yet perfectly formed hotel. The hotel advertises as LGBTQI, but is perfect for everyone. The rooms are modern, chic, clean and of a good size. Had three wonderful nights at this small, yet perfectly formed hotel. The hotel advertises as LGBTQI, but is perfect for everyone. The rooms are modern, chic, clean and of a good size. One minute walk to the Colosseum and the metro is only 5 mins walk away. A range of nearby bars and restaurants, including two LGBTQI venues underneath the hotel itself. If you stay at Second Floor your room card gets you 10% discount at the Coming Out bar/restaurant.

Had to book this at the last minute after an AirBnB cancelled on me. Although it is promoted as a LBGQT hotel there were straight families with children and straight couples there. The staff was extremely friendly the rooms ultra clean and large. Our street facing room had a small balcony but was very quite both during the day and night. Unlike some reviews I read, there was not a single photo or piece of artwork depicting any romantic encounters between individuals of any sex - so those reviews were either untrue or the hotel removed the offending pieces. I would feel fine taking my minor children here. Super great location and view. Within about a block of the Colosseo metro station and bus stop. Multiple restaurants just outside the door of the hotel. The only thing travelers need to be aware of is that there is no elevator in this (or most) buildings in Rome, so luggage will need to be carried upstairs. Also, for American travelers, the name "2nd Floor" is somewhat of a misnomer. It seems in Italy the ground floor is floor 0, not floor 1 like in America. So the 2nd Floor is what an American would consider the 3rd floor. I would certainly stay again.
