Its a steap 25% road climb to this hotel in a realy small vilage on the top of the mounten. They do not speak english or german! Only italian, but they try hard to understand you, and they will. Price is only 55 euro for a room.

“Lovely welcome, more than makes up for slightly dated decor”
Very friendly, even friendlier resident dogs, last minute late night booking, very reasonable pricing and a lovely (and expansive!) breakfast in the morning. A bit difficult to find, up in the vineyards, quite high up on the hillside, but lovely views on the morning sun.

We've spent one night in the hotel, travelling further south the next day. We were not looking for big luxury or wellness hotel as it was just a sleepover. The hotel is quite up from the valley. I thought the SS58 (strada stadale 58) would be somewhat wider - it's a very narrow road climbing steep hill surrounded by vineyards. Watch out for upcoming traffic, it might be difficult to pass. The hotel is consisting of two buildings - our rooms were in the dependance across the street (we didn't know - there was nothing mentioned on booking.com about that). The place seems to have it's best years in early 80's - you can see a lot of diplomas and awards at the reception from these years. There was some refurbisment in 90's I'd say, but that's it. The beds were squeaky, the toilet seat broken, shower hard to open or close, the equipment worn out (ie table football outside is in desolate condition). But fair enough - we're not complaining, it's for a fair price. Just saying a small investment here and there could have given the place a whole new level. We also had a dinner - the restaurant is open 7pm to 9pm. You can choose from the daily or a la carte menu. Menu is Eur 20 and you can combine it for your taste - three options for primi, secondi, two for salad and dessert. The meal was very very good - all the credit to the chef. The customer service has some limits - mainly the language barrier (only the owner speaks some german, the rest just italian), but also they have tried to charge us Eur10 for a baby cot, which is advertised as for free on booking.com Overall - not so bad, but it place saw better times
