Very nice hotel, situated well and provides free bus every half hours to and from Takadonobaba station which proved super handy. Staff polite and helpful. Stayed for 2 weeks and would recommend again. Only suggestion is a welcome folder for the rooms explaining layout, nearby sights, etc. Also info section for tours would be good. Daily breakfast was lovely but a western visitor would have like crepes/pancakes and porridge option in the cool weather.

Our four days here were a brilliant way to kick off our stay in Japan. We chose the hotel to be close to our son who is in residence at Waseda. We had no trouble getting around with metro, cabs and the hotel shuttle to the station is very useful. We just booked a car from the airport which was easy. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious by Tokyo standards. Note that the shower is over a bath which was a bit daunting for my older mother but there are plenty of grab rails and she was fine (and loved their toiletries)! We ate at the breakfast buffet each day and it was absolutely brilliant. Lots of options for both Japanese and Western styles, wonderfully prepared by fantastic staff. We *highly* recommend the Japanese breakfast. We tried the pool which was a great experience. Yes you do pay a fee each visit and there are many rules but the facilities are wonderful quality and there are lovely staff to help you figure it all out. Our stay highlight was dinner with our own chef at Teppanyaki Miyami. I will review it separately as well but it was brilliant. The chef was so skilled and delightful company.

Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo was a great place to stay at. It's next to Waseda University and a FREE shuttle ride to and from Takadanobaba station. This was great because there is shopping and nice restaurants there. There are also some good restaurants near the hotel as well. Our room was very nice and thank goodness for the air conditioning. It was nice to come into a nice cool room from all the humidity outside. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. We had a nice view of the University's park.

“Family friendly”
Very pleasant. Friendly staff. University garden was closed during our stay. Location good but distant from Ginza, although Tokyo is very spread out. Swimming pool/spa on site for extra charge .....................................

“Far away from anything”

This hotel had a grand façade about 30 years ago. It is pretty rundown, although the rooms are quite large. the staff is extremely helpful. The downside of this hotel is that it is very very far from central Tokyo I mean really far. We really couldn’t find any place to eat. We needed a shuttle to get to the train station. We had to take a taxi about 20 minutes to do any shopping or to feel even remotely central to Tokyo.
