Stayed at this hotel for several nights and found it to be a reasonable choice. Location was a bit further away from the Shin Osaka JR Railway station than what we thought, but still was 10 minutes walk and flat. Room was slightly larger than others that we stayed in in Japan and had the usual facilities, tea making and refrigerator. Quiet area with a few small restaurants and convenience stores near by. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful but limited in English.

Stayed there from 23 to 25 Nov. This happens to be a public holiday and long weekend in Osaka. We couldn't find any (<120 USD) accommodation from all the hotel booking websites for 2 weeks. We were already in osaka. Just the night before, we managed to see this hotel with 1 room available. So I quickly booked it w/o realizing it was smoking room. Anyway, to cut a long story short... the room was on the 12th floor - the highest with a fantastic view of the city. They gave us a ioniser that did help to rid the smoke smell to a certain bearable extent. The was small as usual which I have no complains. It is definitely dated but fully functional. Br informed that its location is in the suburbs across the Yodo river, hence there is nothing there for the tourist. However there are 2 supermarkets within 150m walk- Aeon and Super Tamade. At Aeon, you can buy the cooked food (huge variety of local dishes) and warm it up there, buy your coffee and eat it at the dining area. Very convenient. Super Tamade is a place where locals do their grocery. Cheap and good stuff. If you like Japanese marinates/spices/sauces, buy them here as it us cheaper than elsewhere. I heard that most tourist stays here because it is cheaper than umeda. You can either walk comfortably to umeda in 20 mins or take the train. As for us, we walked all the way to Dotonbori and back- it's about 15c and you can soak in the city life, people and the scenery. Its an ok hotel and stayable for a few nights.

This was our first experience of how so much could be fitted in a small room. After staying a night in Narita Airport Tobu Hotel, the room appeared very small. It was difficult to adjust. However, after the first night, all did not seem that bad. We were getting used to the compactness. Almost all guests appeared to be people on a business trip. As for us, we would go out early after the breakfast and return only late in the evening. That’s why the room size stopped bothering us. Breakfast was Japanese style. But there was enough for vegetarians like us. The staff, as expected, was very polite.

“It was ok”
The hotel is pretty old and not the best. The part of town that it is located in is also not very exciting and not much todo close by. But the people at the front desk where great and spoke very good English and helped book activities for me
