One of the best reasons to stay at the Antiguo Mesón Aspeytia is the location in the Historic Center of Santiago de Queretero. We found it very easy to walk to most of the key landmarks in this historic capital. It is a very safe neighborhood surrounded by a variety of restaurants and shopping. Our room at the back of the hotel was quiet and comfortable, and we ate frequently at their restaurant on the roof, Terraza La Grupa. The team supporting the hotel was great, especially Michele on the front desk, who really helped us during our stay. It is a quaint and homey location and was affordable for our stay leading up to the Christmas holidays.

The ambiance of this hotel is tranquil and inviting from the moment you enter. The staff are professional and polite, and it feels quaint, but sophisticated. Valet parking was conveniently available, and then we were greeted promptly at the front desk. The hotel does not have elevators but the staff are helpful and kind enough to assist with getting your baggage up the stairs if you aren't on the first floor. The lighting and plants make the space feel like a peaceful dawn or dusk moment at all times. The rooms have high ceilings and are clean and quiet. Blackout curtains block all the light from the windows, but when you open them, they lead to a beautiful little balcony overlooking the road below. It's a poignant experience to look out at sunset and watch the people walking on the street. Upstairs is a rooftop restaurant with delicious aguachile, lots of mezcal varieties, and both indoor and outdoor seating. Around the hotel are plenty of shops and restaurants-- it's an excellent location if you're planning to walk around and explore. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a lovely experience in QRO.
