My son was married on July 20th in Queretaro, all the guests, California, London, Ireland, Panama, El Salvador and more, there were 40 of us, all with different needs. The Staff were amazing, At the Front desk Fer,Mary, Tono.Paula and a special mention to Gaby who went above and beyond, helping my son (groom) with everything!! Front desk took suits to be cleaned, shirts to be ironed you name it nothing was a problem. Brito and Brandon could not have been more helpful, changing rooms, helping with any problem that arose. Karla took care of us at breakfast and nothing was a problem and she was just so accomdoating, and genuinely cared about how we were. My family and all the guests were extremely happy with our choice of the Gran Hotel. Well done staff!!! thanks you all so very much

The room I got was quite big. It faced the square (not the park) which is nice to look at but it was noisy. The noise was not the hotel's fault as this is downtown so lots of things happening even late at night. The beds were comfortable. The TV channel selection was mostly in spanish but it allowed me to use netflix etc so that was good. The toilet was good. The shower offered hot water etc. BUT heres my issues...the hallway I was at was dark, the shower's pipes rattled until I turned it all the way, a wrench either was forgotten as it held one of the pipes under the sink, the breakfast was nothing great. But the biggest issue I had was the drains...it had a cover on it which I later figured out was to prevent the sewer smell from coming up. The cover was useful as it did prevent smell but if you forget which I did a few times, it stunk of sewer. It's a nice hotel but I have to say it does need some refurbishing.

“Huge room with two balconies, greet bathroom, not good breakfast”
Although this hotel is rated as five star, it needs some refreshing, such as the carpet coming up at the seams inhalls. Nice, friendly staff. Great bar for margaritas out front. What a gorgeous hotel is how I felt when I saw it first. Its obviously a heritage building and you can see how beautifully it has been preserved. We stayed here because of the location and I am happy we did that. Everything in this historical part of town is walkable. In the night, this area is a hub for restaurants, bars and street performers. Very entertaining. My room was huge with high ceilings. It overlooked a nice garden/ square. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was ok. Some electric points were not working in the bedroom but it was manageable. Breakfast is ok ok. Nothing to write about. There are enough places around the hotel so eating out isn't a problem. The highlight of my stay was the front desk, They are just very efficient, professional and helpful. Someone is available 24 hours and are very accommodating. Always smiling and speak good english. Coffee machine present in room works well too.

This is a lovely hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. I had room 132 which had two French balconies facing a quiet, leafy square. The hotel is 1/2 block from the beginning of a pedestrian shopping area and not far from the Modern Art Museum (in a former monastery- a beautiful building), the Calendar Museum and important churches. You won’t go hungry as there are restaurants and snack shops everywhere. The hotel has a lovely outdoor cafe and bar facing the square. In the hotel, I especially liked the good size room, coffee available in the lobby 24/7 and the buffet breakfast on the first floor. There are electrical outlets in the room everywhere you need them. There is a a nice in-room coffee set up. Bathroom amenities are in pump bottles. One thing... you will notice that there are covers on the floor drains in the bathroom. They are there for a reason. If you forget to replace the cover in the shower, you might get sewer gas fumes. It took me awhile to figure out where the unpleasant smell was coming from. I would stay here again.
