We stayed for a week for some exploring and sightseeing. The hotel was a highlight. A lot of thought has gone into the decor and ambience. The whole place smelt great. January is a good time to go with cool evenings and mornings and some warm sun in the afternoon. It was great to have open fires in the bar and dining room. Breakfast and lunch (both a la carte) were excellent. We never used the restaurant in the evening because we were so well fed in the day. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. The main square and Medina are about 10 minutes walk away. You need to be brave when crossing the road. Drivers will stop at pedestrian crossings for you but you will have your doubts as they brake late and the motorbikes will just weave round you.

I decided to pamper myself after going to a corporate event and booked a 2-night stay at La Villa des Orangers. What a great experience! This small Relais & Chateaux is located at the foot of Koutoubia Mosque, between Royal Palace and Jemaa el-Fna Place. You will be surprised by the surrounding (nothing fancy) as it's close to the Medina. This means a very busy streets with buses, trucks and loud scooters screamed by. The hotel is adjacent to a petrol station a parking and a garage... so nothing fancy but one you pass the nondescript wood door, no sign, no grand entrance, there’s always a surprise behind the doors. And once you pass the doors, the chaos of Marrakesh is a world away.... such another world. You enter the world of luxury, silence, beauty. It was crafted from the home of a magistrate and dates to the 1930s. I was taken to my room we went from grand porticoes to open air lounges, through different courtyards, and lovely lounges with fireplace. I had booked a room (category "Intemporelle") and was on the 1st floor of the main patio (room n° 9). Room was lovely decorated. I had a private staircase in my room entrance leading to a private terrace overlooking the Koutoubia. Bathroom was nice but a bit awkward, especially the shower. I only use the shower once as because the water overflowed from the shower, and on top, the ceiling in this part of the bathroom is sloping. This is my only "negative" comment about the room. Otherwise, it was perfect. There are two pools: The main one is located on the ground floor close to the restaurants and lined with citrus trees, sleek loungers, and intimate dining tables; and an additional plunge pool up on the rooftop overlooking Koutoubia’s façade. The professional and lovely staff is very responsive. They booked a private guide for me for 2 half-days and the guide was outstanding. I had dinner on my first night and was the only guest in the restaurant. What a treat. I felt like a Queen. I had dinner in the indoor dining room next to the beautiful fireplace. It was excellent. However, I found breakfast was not at the level of a Relais & Châteaux or such luxury place. It was nothing extraordinary and I think the waiter should put the sugar and jam plate already on the table because during my 2 days, I had to ask for sugar. Except for this, my stay was memorable. I had a holistic experience on my last day at the Spa which is stunning... I had a body exfoliation with black soap and a kessa glove, followed by a typical ghassoul wrap, all with the soothing scent of orange blossom in the background it was just divine!! In conclusion, La Villa des Orangers is true hidden gem.

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We loved the general ambience of the hotel, amazing service, exquisite food and its proximity to everything worth seeing in Marrakesh. We were greeted by Abdullah as we checked in who provided us with excellent information while handling the check in process smoothly. We had all three meals at the hotel during our stay and was very impressed with the service by all serving staff especially Hussein who was very quick to take care of all our needs with a smile. We also took note of the kindness of the hands on Manager who oversaw that everything ran smoothly. Special mention of the Moroccan chef who consistently presented us with the most delicious and exquisite food during our stay. We can’t wait to go back to this little gem.

Incredible hotel. It is absolutely beautiful and is a true oasis, location is fab its right near the Medina but once inside you cannot hear the hustle and bustle of the outside world, its calm and tranquil. It has two pools and both were heated, the down stairs warmer than the upstairs pool. Our room was amazing, with pool access from the little terrace. The hotels décor is very modern but also very traditional as well. The hotel grounds are spotless and well care for, the rooms are so clean and fresh with daily turn down services. I felt so lucky to stay here. The hotel itself is hidden away and can be hard to spot from the outside, but when walking in its like you entre a different world! The staff are so helpful and nothing was too much for them! If you are looking for a beautifully decorated, well kept, clean place to stay I highly recommend Villa des Oranges, this is the only Raid I will be recommending to my customers from now on as nothing else compares. I honestly cannot put into words how fabulous this hotel is, if you are looking for somewhere to stay stop here and book Villa des Oranges, you will not be disappointed!!

“Tranquil elegant setting. 6-star service.”
We wanted an elegant “authentic” hotel, and our expectations were exceeded. The setting, the food, and most especially the service were all wonderful. The service staff deserve 6 stars. Walking distance to the Jemma and a peaceful escape after your excursions. I would absolutely come back again.
