I think Riad could improve with better maps so it would not be a problem anymore. The map they gave us is good to go out from Medina, but if you come from other side it becomes a challenge to come back to Riad(In night time) But everything else is perfect.I recommend this place!

If you want something that is comfortable, economic, friendly and no frills, this is the place. We spent a week here, and by the time we left, it felt like a proper home from home. The photos online definitely are covered by artistic license, but it's still a lovely little base to work from when visiting wonderful Marrakech.

Riad Alwane is beautiful. The decor and atmosphere are all fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast was great, and the hospitality was top notch. While lounging on the ground floor we were treated to tea and cookies immediately. I wish we had been there in the summer, so we could have used the pool as well. The price was very low, for the quality of the accommodation. Everything would have been perfect, if it had not been for the location. The riad is located on a narrow side street, in a very local area, and can be difficult to find. We had a very uncomfortable situation, being followed by a large group of local teenagers to the front door, demanding our money. It was quite scary because they had blocked all our exits, and it took a while for the door of the riad to be answered. We were too nervous to leave the riad for dinner that night because we continued to hear them outside. Reading reviews from other websites, it seems that this is a recurring problem and the teenagers seek out tourists in this area. It is such a shame because I loved everything else. It was our only bad experience in Marrakech, and it was a shame it happened on our last night. If you do chose to stay here, try to do most of your site-seeing during the daytime and always walk with a buddy. Otherwise you can probably find a Riad of the same quality, in a slightly safer area.
