All-Inclusive Regulations in the Balearic Islands…

We booked this room after reading other good recommendations and due to the close proximity of most places. We arrived in the evening where Salah kindly greeted us and escorted us to the hotel and we were served mint tea as soon as we arrived which was really nice and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely with a very traditional feeling which is what we wanted. The hotel and rooms are clean which is very important for me. We had a family room which has a very big super king size bed and 2 single beds for kids. Air conditioning which is perfect as you don't feel stuffy. Breakfast is served between 8am and 10am where you are served msemen, a type of pancake and sometimes a bakery item like pain au chocolat along with honey, jams, triangle cheese, orange juice and mint tea. If you didn't book breakfast there are plenty of nearby little food places that sell freshly made msemen which we had one day as we left the hotel very early for the mountain trip. The rooftop terrace is amazing area you can relax and just sit in the shade as it was very hot and we did not want to go out in the high sun. Our hotel is close enough to the Jma el Fna square about 15 to 20 minutes walk. Our hotel manager Salah is an extremely kind and caring person always willing to help and accommodate any request. We are checking out tomorrow and he told us we can check out at 12pm if we wish and has offered to take care of our luggage until late afternoon. As we do not leave for the airport until 5.30pm which I thought was lovely as I cannot see how I could roll my luggage in this terrain! We check out tomorrow and cannot thank the staff enough for their hospitality.

When we first arrived the ladies of the house sat us down and made us traditional mint tea while we waited for Saala. We felt very welcome. When Saala arrived he welcomed us and talked us through what Riad Dubai had to offer, then he gave us a map and showed us the surrounding attractions. The Riad offers excursions, however we had already booked some through TripAdvisor beforehand. Saala was very kind in proceeding to assist with these excursions even though we did not book through him. He walked us to our designated pick up and rang the company multiple times to arrange pick up. We would have felt very lost in the hustle and bustle and delayed pick ups if he had not been there to assist. I read many reviews before going and would like to state that the reviews calling the accommodation shabby are completely unfounded. It is a beautiful traditional Riad and is a wonderful experience if you are coming to Marrakesh to enjoy the culture. All the rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. The first evening we were too tired and found it difficult to find a restaurant so we returned to the Riad as I remembered seeing a menu. I have seen people complain in reviews about having to order food a day in advance and being sad that all they got was pizza. I would like to clarify this. Riad Dubai does not have a restaurant. The lovely ladies will go shopping and cook you the chosen meal that day if you so wish. It is a family running the establishment so imagine walking in to your mum at 9pm and demanding a slap up meal you don't have the ingredients for! However, Saala ran to the local take out and ordered us a pizza which was so kind of him as he didn't have to do that. He could have just pointed us in the right direction and left it at that. Both of us would highly recommend the Riad Dubai and would like to thank all our hosts for their kindness and amazing hospitality for the duration of our stay.

You need to be clear when you are booking this - it's a riad, not a hotel. It's situated off a street and the alleyways can at first seem a bit daunting but a warm welcome awaited with Salah providing delicious mint tea. Our room was large with a lovely big, comfortable bed. There was nowhere to hang clothes but we just unpacked some and laid them out on the large sofa. The bathroom was large (we had the one with the mismatched toilet seat but it wasn't a problem). There were a couple of sachets of hair shampoo and two small bars of soap, so bring your own toiletries. Contrary to what the description says it does not have a mini-bar (although Salah was happy for us to drink our own alcohol with meals or on the glorious roof terrace where we retreated late in the afternoon), and there was no TV in our room (thank goodness). The riad is very central and you can walk to most attractions - taking in the fantastic sights and sounds of everyday life in Marrakech. We paid for a four-hour guided tour of the souks and our guide Abdullah was incredibly informative and friendly and also went on a trip to the Berber house in the Atlas Mountains - superb. We ate out mostly but had one meal in the riad which was delicious. We went in January and the nights were very, very cold but I can imagine how cooling this riad would be on hot summer evenings. Salah and his sister Wafa are friendly, kind and accommodating. Nothing was too much bother. It's a beautiful traditional riad and we had a trip that will live long in our memories. What an experience!
