“A Sanctuary in Marrakesh ”
A wonderful, relaxing haven amidst the hustle and bustle of the Medina, Abdul and his team couldn't do more for us and were cheerful in doing so. A real Marrakesh Riad experience which we hope to repeat in the not too distant future. Cheryl and Mark

I have just returned from staying for three nights at Riad Ifoulki and it was a great experience. I'd booked the stay as part of a Jet2 City Break. The Riad is very centrally located within the heart of the Medina. Jemaa El-fnaa square is around a 10-15 minute walk away (although it can take some time to get around in the early evening/night-time as the Medina is so busy). We booked a transfer through the Riad before arriving and this was a really good choice. We were met by a driver at Marrakech Airport and they took us as close to the Riad as possible. As the Riad was down a few alleyways the transfer couldn't take us to the door, this wasn't a problem as one of the staff from the Riad met the car and took us to the Riad. I'd defiantly do this again as it made the transfer seamless. When we arrived at the Riad we were given a map and an overview of Marrakech, Zachariah went through everything in depth and was really helpful. The Riad itself was beautiful, the rooftop had excellent views of the city and had lots of places to relax. The weather in February was warm in the afternoon but chilly in the mornings/nights, so we didn't use the pool, but this looked beautiful. I'd like to visit again in the summer as it would be lovely to relax in the coolness of the Riad after a day of exploring. We had a suite which contained a bed and a sofa, the room was beautifully decorated and felt very authentic. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. It was my birthday during the stay and they made a big fuss at breakfast with a cake and some flowers, this was really appreciated and gave it an extra-special touch. For food we opted for half-board. The breakfast was really flexible and we were able to request it when we wanted it between 9.00am and 6.00pm (although they could do it earlier if your requested it ahead of time). The breakfast was breads (Moroccan bread is lovely!) with tea, coffee, omelette, pancakes and various condiments. It was really enjoyable and left you feeling very full and ready for a day of exploring the city. The evening meal was served at 7.00pm (in the dining room as it was a bit chilly, but Peter did say in the summer they eat on the roof which would be magical). You could eat with other guests or if you asked in advance request to eat in other locations around the Riad. The dinner itself was four courses (soup, salad, tagine and dessert) and was accompanied by water. The food was excellent, I am vegetarian so the staff adapted meals for me and it was no trouble at all. It was nice to meet other travellers and also dine with the Riad owner, Peter, and speak to him about Marrakech. Overall, I loved this place and would definitely recommend, it really added to a fantastic city break in Marrakech. I'd go back again and was sorry to leave after a short stay. The staff were superb and it really felt like a special place to stay! Thank you to everyone from the Riad for such a great time.
